Alexander Wang is continuing on what seems like a mission to turn New York City in Alexander Wang City with unconventional guerrilla-like marketing. On Monday, he launched a new campaign for T by Alexander Wang with a video starring Spankrock and Santigold and a “wildposting campaign” of still images to be posted around New York City. This morning, an image of Raquel Zimmerman from the Alexander Wang fall campaign was released with the news that another film had been produced for the designer’s main line.
It stars Zimmerman and was shot in an abandoned factory in Red Hook, Brooklyn (Great minds think alike?). Wang told WWD, “We’ve rented these trucks, and the video will be projected from the trucks onto the sides of buildings. Some will be roaming, some planted.”
According to Wang’s PR, these screenings will take place tonight, tomorrow night and Friday night “around 9pm” in the following locations: Houston and McDougal, 14th and University, 14th and 8th Avenue, etc. As for the the other locations, dubbed “etc,” I guess look for a busy intersection with a large building that looks like a good canvas for a video to be projected onto? Unfortunately for Brooklynites, it doesn’t sound like the place where the video was shot is included.
For those of you who don’t live in NYC, the video will go live on Alexanderwang.com tomorrow morning.
