If you’ve been to the American Apparel website in the past two days or so, you’ll have noticed that it’s Pantytime, which is considered a national holiday in Dov Charney-ville. What is Pantytime? It’s a sale on undies and also an excuse to post photos of young, sexy, 20-somethings in their knickers. You can’t fault American Apparel for ever going off-brand–they’ve got a schtick and they’re schticking to it. But same ole, same ole right?

But then in the middle of the slideshow of bottoms, a photo of a recognizable face popped up.

I read the little caption beneath, and wow, it’s Lea Seydoux, the darling actress from Woody Allen’s summer flick Midnight in Paris (which has just been extended to run until August 26) and Prada’s forthcoming Candy fragrance ads. She was a model before she was an actress (as all pretty French girls are), and after a little research I stumbled onto a ton of photos of her model cards, her as a brunette snapped by Garance, and there were also a few NSFW ones from her stint at American Apparel.

So click through to find out a little more about Pantytime and see Lea Seydoux’s XXX AA shots.

Did you know Coco Rocha used to be a serious Irish dancer? Yep, the illustrious model was jigging all over the place as a child and Irish dancing actually played a major part in propelling her modeling career. She was discovered at an Irish dance competition and became known as the Irish dancing model after Jean-Paul Gaultier asked her to jig down his runway in 2007.

Apparently, Irish dance still holds a place in Coco‘s heart. A new documentary about the very intense-seeming Irish dance world is out and the model is hosting an online screening tonight. The concept of an online screening does sounds strange, as does the fact that, according to a release, viewers can chat with Coco in real-time both during and after the film via webcam. But nevertheless, it’s happening, and we like that anyone can participate.

Elie Tahari has seen success in the fashion biz for over 40 years. So to ensure his success for the next 40, this week he’s relaunched his website, elietahari.com. The revamped site features an enhanced e-commerce experience, a “social media” component, and a bulked up editorial component that sees Elie himself interviewing celebrities and curating pages.

We chatted with the Israeli-born fashion mogul about his new editorial role, the celebrity interviews he’d like to score, and the point of view he’ll bring to his new site. We can only hope it’s as honest, charming, and hilarious as Elie is in conversation.

Fashionista: We read this quote from you that we kind of love, that says you greet each day with a “Don’t you fuck with me today.” Can we look forward to that kind of attitude and editorial voice on your new site and in your new webzine, ETC?
Elie Tahari: [Laughs] Why not?

Stella McCartney’s New Summer Sunnies Are Easy Classics You’ll Wear Forever

Wednesday, Aug 17, 2011 / 12:00 PM

Sunglasses are a bit of an obsession for us and it should come as no surprise that Stella McCartney’s are among the most covetable. Every pair somehow manages to look both timeless and fresh at the same time. Stella herself believes, “Women have two sets: a classic pair they’ll have forever and a more playful pair.” We think that’s a good rule to go by. Also, a good excuse to buy two pairs of sunnies.

If it’s that classic, throw-on-and-go, instant-cool pair you’re after, look no further than Stella’s slick take on the aviator. The style comes in metal (they’re lightweight don’t worry!) and acetate and in classic colors like black, gray and a tortoise-shell-ish hue. They fit in perfectly with that 70s trend that’s been dominating the runways lately (including Stella’s) but the design is sleek, pared down and modern to withstand summer after summer.

Shop the collection at Stella McCartney.com.

Kate Moss continues to make us jealous with her storybook-perfect wedding. In the video above hear everyone from Marc Jacobs to Mario Testino wax poetic about Kate’s big day–and why the model continues to fascinate the fashion world. Hint: For Testino, it’s a cologne-versus-perfume thing.

The wedding sounds like it was even more fun and amazing than all the photos make it seem–Jacobs says it felt like a “beautiful, spontaneous moment,” while Candy Pratts Price reveals that “[Kate] actually looked back at all of us when she had to say ‘I do,’ which we all thought was hilarious.” Aw. Stylist Camilla Nickerson even says, “It was one of the best nights of my life.”

Fashionista favorite Of-a-Kind, a cool e-commerce site that sells small quantities of special edition merchandise from emerging designers, is launching a blouse by Tucker as their latest featured product today. This is despite the fact that Tucker’s New York studio burned down the weekend of July 23 (yes, that’s just a little over three weeks ago). And it wasn’t just a little smoke–shit burned. down. Luckily, no one was hurt, but they lost every single thing in the studio, including their computer servers and all their current stock (including the pieces for Of a Kind). Could you imagine?

This is the kind of thing that could put a company out of business–at least temporarily. Instead, here’s the crazy story of how they turned around and went right back to work without missing a single shipment, as told to us by the Of a Kind peeps:

Red carpet regulars Olivia Palermo, Scarlett Johansson, Hayden Panettiere and Michelle Trachtenberg have all teamed up with Stuart Weitzman to try their hand at shoe design.

According to the release, proceeds from what Weitzman has dubbed the “Young Hollywood Cares Collection,” will benefit Marsha Moses’ research in ovarian cancer at the Folkman Institute in Boston. They range in price from $425 to $498 and will be available online and in Stuart Weitzman boutiques come September. Panettiere and Trachtenberg (who co-starred in Ice Princess!) will be at Stuart Weitzman’s Madison Avenue flagship on Fashion’s Night Out to celebrate the collection’s unveiling.

So could a footwear design career be in any of these girls’ futures? Well, Olivia Palermo, the only one who isn’t a Hollywood actress, designed the only shoe without a platform and the only one we really like (Trachtenberg’s is made out of denim, crystals and snakeskin). Which is your favorite? Click through to see all four.

Well this is a new one: Abercrombie & Fitch has offered The Situation cold hard cash (and lots of it) to stop wearing their clothing, WWD reports.

Apparently, the teen aspirational brand is not a fan of The Situation‘s drunken escapades and creepy hook-up tactics (who would have thought!?) and say they are “deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image.”

Now we know what you’re thinking: Does this mean we have to see even more of The Situation’s shirtless body?
