R.I.P. Hélène Rochas: The widow of Marcel Rochas and former brand CEO, Hélène Rochas passed away last week at age 84. The original Rochas muse married her husband at 18 and helped him turn the couture house into a household name. A Rochas spokesperson called it “the end of a myth, of an era… She was the muse of one of the great couturiers, the last to remain alive from that era.” {Grazia}

Could Robert Pattinson be the next Karl Lagerfeld?

Probably not. But the famously-bedheaded-star may have plans to follow in his footsteps (without the whole diet-coke-only-diet, we hope). Apparently, after R.Patz heard fellow Twilight star Kellan Lutz was launching his own Venice-beach-influenced line, Abbot + Main, the tween heartthrob felt inspired.

“Rob and I were talking about doing a clothing line together!” Lutz told E reporters last week.

“He didn’t know I was doing mine,” Lutz went on. “He’s like ‘I should do one’ and I’m like ‘Oh’. And he found out I was doing one and he’s like ‘Really?’ It was really funny. He wants to do one too.” Wow, Kellan is way more articulate than we would have thought.

The beefcake actor-turned-fashion-designer also offered R.Patz some suggestions on what Rob might call his line:

Late last week, Dior released their latest campaign for Diorskin starring none other than Black Swan beauty Natalie Portman.

Portman seems like a natural choice for the luxury skincare brand–she’s beautiful, recently won an Oscar and has already worked with the brand as the face of Dior Cherie. Only, the actress and new momy has a troubled history with the brand. Portman was one of the few to take a stand against John Galliano following the anti-Semitic incidences that got him fired from Dior, saying in a statement released in March: “I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way.”

Dior has since cut ties with Galliano, so Portman hasn’t exactly gone against her words. But after manning the fashion house for over a decade, Galliano’s name is forever linked to the label. And since this Diorskin campaign must have been shot months ago…it all feels a little…strange.

What do you think? Is Portman off the hook to continue to get paid by Dior? Or are there whiffs of hypocrisy here?

Could Sex and the City be returning to the small screen? Based on the latest crop of rumors, that’s the new plan. The reported series would hit the boob tube before any Sex and the City prequel film–you know, that one that was supposedly cast with Elizabeth Olsen, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts set to play younger versions of the four ladies.

No word yet on who will make up the small screen cast. However, one pretty huge name was mentioned in this morning’s Daily Mail report: Sarah Jessica Parker.

With London and surrounding areas finally returning to normal after days of uncontrolled rioting and looting, there was some question as to whether Fashion’s Night Out, an event that invites young people into stores, would go on as scheduled. Many retailers were victims of looting during the riots, and we heard that some retailers, like Manolo Blahnik, even went as far as to clear their stock from their store until the riots had subsided.

But as the rioting has finally ended, thanks in part to a massive police presence, and with Prime Minister David Cameron pledging to “tackle the ‘moral collapse’,” according to the UK’s Independent, the shopping show will go on. A UK-based Conde Nast spokesperson confirmed to Fashionista: “All proceeding as per plan for Fashion’s Night Out here in London.”

In fact, London’s FNO is slated to be the biggest the city has ever seen.

Ever wondered what Lady Gaga‘s interpretation of Santa’s workshop would look like? Well, thanks to Barneys CEO Mark Lee, you’re going to find out pretty soon. This Holiday season, Barneys is taking the Holiday window concept several steps further and creating, for the first time ever, an entire themed shopping environment complete with limited edition merchandise and special items–all curated, developed and inspired by Lady Gaga herself. She’s such a renaissance woman these days.

Gaga’s Workshop will take over the entire fifth floor of the Madison Avenue Men’s shop–it currently houses men’s co-op, but will become vacant in October, when men’s co-op is set to merge with women’s. Gaga/Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti and installation artist Eli Sudbrack of Assume Vivid Astro Focus will help Gaga see out her likely-insane vision.

Fashion’s Night Out round three promises to be the biggest yet. Stores in over 250 cities across the US and overseas are scheduled to participate in the Vogue-helmed retail fest, and this year over 200 e-tailers will join in on the fun so those not living in or near a participating city can throw down plastic and score some deals too.

September 8 looms ever closer and Fashionsnightout.com has just unveiled a master list of events hosted by retailers across the country so you can start mapping out your shopping route now. (And we mean that literally–the site allows you to “add events” to your “night out” and plots them on a map.)

We scoured the listings for all the most important information: which celebrities have signed on and what they’ll be doing, the craziest gimmicks, and where all your favorite designers will be so you can stalk them show them some love.
