Macy’s is really trying to bump its fashion image up a notch or two. First the designer capsule collections–Karl Lagerfeld’s is up next–and now: Anna Dello Russo.

The kooky and beloved Vogue Japan editor has been tagged as the “premiere INC Editor at Large,” which makes us think that Macy’s will be featuring other editors in this role. What exactly does an INC Editor at Large do, you ask? Next week the press will get a preview of INC’s new collections as “edited and styled” by ADR. Based on the picture that accompanied this release (left), it looks like Anna may be the face for the campaign, too.

Behold the beauty and grace (sorry, we had to) that is Grace Coddington (here in her 30s). Captured by her ex-husband and renowned photographer Willie Christie, this never-before-seen photo of Coddington is a testament to the Vogue editor’s timeless (and unmistakable) allure.

Christie, who was married to Coddington from 1974-78, snapped this image long after Coddington’s modeling career had ended and she was well underway as the creative force behind Vogue. Obviously, the woman can still clearly work it in front of the camera. “For me she was still photographic heaven,” Christie told Vogue UK. “She was so brilliant as a model because she had an appreciation and understanding of art in all its forms; mimicry; gentleness and serenity. She understood everything that the clothes were trying to do.”

The image, which Christie told the magazine had been “lying in drawers for the preceding 35-odd years” will be on view for the first time at The Ivy Club in London from September 16-19. And Grace isn’t the only famous face in the collection:

People are squeamish about vaginas. Go ahead–say the word really loud on a bus and see what happens. But 50% of the people on the planet have them. Why is it such a big deal? The answer: it just is.

Lady parts have been in the news the past few weeks, thanks to Summer’s Eve and its absolutely gut-busting, excruciating, “did-they-really-do-that” racially-focused ads (you can watch them with a Colbert Report spin below, which is really the only way to watch them.) Their tagline is “Hail to the V.” Enough said.

While Summer’s Eve is busy making women feel all empowered about their V’s (while also sneakily saying that, um, they could really be cleaner down there) a small group of people were on a mission to find the most gorgeous vagina on the planet.

Photos from what appear to be the Barneys New York fall campaign featuring Carine Roitfeld have hit the internet, thanks to a Tweet from Jim Shi and the ace sleuths at the Fashion Spot (of course). It was announced back in March that Roitfeld had teamed up with Barneys to guest edit and style their fall catalogue and campaign with Mario Sorrenti behind the lens. And now it appears she’ll be modeling in Barneys fall campaign as well.

We can’t wait to see more of “Carine’s World”. Click through to see another leaked photo from the campaign (we hear it’s in September’s Vanity Fair).

It goes without saying that the world (us included) has gone a little mad for Kate Middleton. The Duchess’ high-low accessibly style has earned her spots on a bajillion Best Dressed Lists, including Vanity Fair’s, as well as a cult-like chronicling of her daily outfits on countless blogs (again, ours included). She’s so popular that it seems not approving of her would be akin to social suicide. However, not everyone is a fan. Check out our roundup of those who’ve dared to diss Duchess Catherine and what they’ve had to say.

Vivienne Westwood

After the Royal Wedding: “I would have loved to have dressed Kate Middleton, but I have to wait until she catches up in style a bit.”
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times “I think she’s got a problem with eye make-up! The sharp line around her eyes make her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none…Let me put it this way. It seems to me that her image is ‘ordinary woman’. Therefore, high street shopper. And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from.”

At left is a picture of Taylor Swift at last night’s 2011 Teen Choice Awards. She’s beautiful, as always, but isn’t her look sorta familiar? We thought so too.

The thing is, if you’ve ever seen Taylor Swift on the red carpet, and we mean ever, last night’s outfit is probably conjuring up some major deja vu feelings for you too. We’re all for sticking to a fashion formula that works for you, but c’mon Miss Swift has worn a variation of the exact same look for the past three years. Don’t believe us? Take a look at the songstress’s non-evolution of style.

Waiting online this weekend for the final days of the wildly popular McQueen exhibit at the Met turned into something of a sport: there were packed lunches to rival any tailgate (sans the Bud Lite), costumes and plenty of live Tweeting (see: Joe Zee). I know because I was one of those people.

15,000 people came to see the exhibit on Saturday alone and at midnight the line was still 1500 deep, according to the New York Times. According to the latest figures from the Met, all total 661,509 people came to see the McQueen retrospective, making Savage Beauty the eighth most popular exhibit in the museum’s history and the most popular ever from the Costume Institute.

A terrible procrastinator myself, I left my visit to the last week. It definitely wasn’t due to lack of interest… I just got really…busy. And who could have predicted that in the exhibit’s final days there would be a line to get into the line to get into the museum and waits would exceed three hours?

Want to know what it was like? Don’t worry, I chronicled the whole thing minute by minute:

PARIS–No need to remind you of the ongoing scandal around Thylane Loubry-Blondeau, daughter of French TV celebrity(ish), and her borderline erotic shoot for Vogue Paris. So does it merit the outrage? Or is it merely the continuation of a long French tradition?

Although I live in Paris and Blondeau is of French descent, I heard of the outrage through the US media. The French press had either brushed it off, or reported on “the Americans going hysterical.”

If you contrast the coverage of the same story in the US and in France, it’s almost as if outlets are talking about different photos. Here are excerpts of the same story, one in the New York Daily News, the other in the French equivalent, the Nouvel Observateur:

Nails were a popular category at Cosmoprof, and none more so than the classic brands. Essie‘s booth at the conference, not surprisingly, was a buzzing hive of activity. I managed to sneak in at a quiet point and got to have a peek at all the upcoming nail polish collections.

The nail polish brand, which has stayed resolutely classic–with a refusal to veer into the land of crackle and nail art–is blinging it up a bit for the colder months. The rep acknowledged that the demand for fancy finishes and metallic polishes (Chanel fall collection, anyone?) forced them to re-imagine their classics for a more modern audience.

Don’t let the name fool you: The Teen Choice Awards are not just for the tweens anymore. Actually, over the past few years the Teen Choice Awards have emerged as one of our favorite red carpets to watch because celebrities take more risks on this carpet, new starlets make their debuts, and the prizes are surfboards, for god’s sake. Need we say more?

The only thing that bummed us out this year is that some of our favorite actual teen stars–Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld among them–were absent.

Check out our favorite looks from last night’s award show.
