Gen Art, that incubator of new design responsible for launching the careers of Zac Posen and Philip Lim, has been sorely missed the past two years while it’s been on hiatus to deal with financial troubles. Now under new ownership, the organization has trained its eagle eye on a new cadre of up-and-coming designers.

Gen Art is going to spotlight six ready-to-wear designers, one men’s wear designer, and four accessory designers. Ace & Jig, Ann Yee, Eighteenth, Jennifer Chun, Shunghee Bang, William Okpo, and Baron Wells will make their runway debut at New York Fashion week, WWD is reporting.

Watch How New Yorkers Really Feel About Fascinators: A few journalists walked around the city in fascinators asking people on the street what they thought. The responses are hilarious. {The Cut}

Judges For New Project Runway All-Stars Confirmed: Model Angela Lindvall will replace Heidi Klum as host and Marie Claire EIC Joanna Coles will be the contestants’ mentor, with veterans Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman returning to judge. We will miss Michael Kors though. {People}

Daisy Lowe Covers Playboy Covered In Daisies: Get it? It’s like, her name. The model looks really hot-girl-next-door in a PVC swimsuit spotted with her namesake flower. Though kinda awesome, this is a September issue we probably won’t be buying. {Telegraph}

Sarah Jessica Parker Has ANOTHER Cover?? SJP is on September’s Marie Claire… this might be the oversaturation point. {Fashion Gone Rogue}

The Condé Nast building is a place of great mystery and power. It also has a legendary cafeteria, and the elevators are an infamous hive of activity and gossip.

We have no idea why it took so long, but some genius started a Twitter account called @Conde Elevator to chronicle all the convos that take place in the storied elevators. We applaud the brave soul who started it and sincerely hope that s/he does not get canned.

There are only 13 tweets on there so far, but it already deserves its own “Ten Best Tweets” list. So here they are, in no particular order:

Rodarte has just released the look book for their second collection for Opening Ceremony on Facebook and, as always, the Mulleavys don’t disappoint. The sisters were inspired by Scandinavia for this collection, which hits stores and online in October. Silhouettes are long and tiered and cinched at the waist, prints are Nordic-themed, and knits are Fair Isle. Cardigans are done in mohair and metallic lurex and skirts are made of strips of lambskin. The whole collection kinda screams Elle Fanning, in a good way. Read more »

The news about Kanye West, fashion designer, keeps coming at an alarming rate. The way this is going, we’re going to be walking down Fifth Avenue one day and see a Kanye West flagship store pop up out of nowhere.

Giuseppe Zanotti told Footwear News that Kanye has been making monthly visits to the shoe designer’s factor, spending 10-12 hour there per visit. “[Kanye] loves learning about shoes, both the design and construction, and we’ve tried to design something together. In a couple of months, he could have his own special collection out,” Zanotti said.

Perhaps realizing that he’d said too much, Zanotti stopped there. A special collaboration between the two? Can we call it Kanyotti?

Fashion’s Night Out is upon us. Almost. The retail-fest is exactly one month away and, predictably, the fashion world has already begun milking the one-day event well in advance. To that end, Vogue.com and Polyvore announced their FNO Style Setter competition this morning, which will be judged by Blake Lively, Alexander Wang and Grace Coddington.

Here’s how it works: Each week Vogue.com and Polyvore will announce a new theme–Fall Wardrobe Essentials, What to Wear on FNO, and Dress a Style Icon for Fashion Week–and invite users to create sets inspired by the theme of the week, on a special section of Polyvore. Contestants may use any of the thousands of articles of clothing on Polyvore, but the one catch is that they have to use at least one of the featured items (read: FNO merch) in their sets. Each day Vogue.com editors will choose a single set to be highlighted on their website, and at the end of the week celebrity judges Blake Lively, Alexander Wang or Grace Coddington will pick their two favorites to be entered in the finals. (So, be sure to include a printed mini dress, leather backpack and a cat in their respective week’s sets for a guaranteed win.)

The six celebrity-picked finalists will, in turn, be voted on by Vogue.com readers in a final showdown.

Tweens are snapping up Justin Bieber’s new fragrance, Someday, like kids in a candy shop in record numbers (it was the most successful celebrity fragrance launch in history). It’s an apt metaphor, since, to our noses, it smells like a cherry lollipop covered in baby powder. , just launched in the UK last week, exclusively at Harrods. To celebrate, instead of offering a gift with purchase, the famed London department store whipped up a Someday-inspired sundae (a some-dae?), WWD reports.

The sundae, called a “Bieber Bocker Glory” (we have no idea what that means) is made from ingredients inspired by the top notes of the scent. It contains wild berry and vanilla ice cream, pear, lavender sprinkles, and “edible glitter.” (Edible glitter? We know what we’re putting in our coffee this morning!)

After Amy Winehouse’s tragic passing, we wondered about the fate of her collection with Fred Perry. She told Harper’s Bazaar back in October that she and Perry had designed through fall 2012 but when we asked Perry’s PR for comment they would only say that the collection was “on hold until we speak with Amy’s family and management” and would not comment further.

Perry has since spoken with Winehouse’s family and the label has announced plans to release the fall 2012 Amy Winhouse for Fred Perry collection and wholesale the spring 2012 collection, WWD is reporting.

“Amy was passionate and dedicated to the collaboration, and her signature style is clearly stamped across each piece,” Fred Perry said in a statement. Amy’s royalties and fees from the collections will be donated to the soon-to-be-created Amy Winehouse foundation and Fred Perry has said he will make a “seasonal donation” to the Foundation.”
