Are you an Anglophilic nail polish lover? If so, this is going to be a really good week for you. Nails Inc., the nail polish brand known for its trendy colors and fun crystallized caps, is finally launching full-on here in the US. In the past, small special edition sets and collections were available at Henri Bendel, but that’s about it.

Thea Green, the founder of Nails Inc., is a former fashion editor at Tatler and started a nail salon chain after being inspired by the concept of the quickie manicure on her frequent trips to the US. At the time, manicures were a luxury item in her country, and UK salons didn’t offer quick versions. Her concept took off, with women flocking in for 15-minute manis. The nail polish line soon followed, then came the English designers looking for bespoke colors for their catwalks. Instant caché.

Last year, when Zara launched e-commerce for the first time, we were pretty disappointed upon realizing that only European customers were getting in on it. While Zara did say they would launch online shopping for the U.S. at some point, we didn’t have much to go on–until now! And we only have about a month to wait. A rep for Zara has confirmed to us that U.S. e-commerce is set to launch Wednesday, September 7 of this year–just in time for fall shopping.

It’s about time. Even though we sometimes give Zara a hard time for being very literally influenced by designers, we still shop there. Their clothes are affordable, on-trend and look expensive. And it will be nice to be able to shop online since their busy Manhattan stores can be a lot to handle. Plus, Kate Middleton’s love for the affordable retailer will have only increased demand exponentially.

66-year-old Helen Mirren is already an Oscar winner and a Dame, but she has just earned herself another coveted title: Best Body of the Year.

The LA Fitness health club chain polled over 2,000 people and Mirren beat out such svelte starlets and models as Jennifer Lopez, Elle ‘The Body’ Macpherson, Kelly Brook and Pippa Middleton for the title, the Daily News is reporting. (Don’t worry Pippa got the consolation title “Rear of the Year.”)

When Mirren was snapped in a bikini three years ago, jaws dropped around the world (if you search Helen Mirren in Google, bikini pops up first next to her name–it’s oustered Caligula). That photo undoubtedly has a lot to do with Mirren’s win. She earned 17.7% of the votes while MacPherson came in second with 10.6% percent of votes.

Pippa Middleton is still inspiring legions of women in the UK and abroad, and recently just won a very prestigious honor. Her skin tone, dubbed the “Royal Mocha,” has been voted the most desirable shade by British women looking to fake bake, the Daily Mail is reporting.

The study, commissioned by a new UK TV station, included a poll of 2,000 women who were presented with a color chart of various tan Brit celebs. The station also paraded tan models in bikinis and high heels all over London, to act as representatives of each celeb, which I’m sure cheered up a lot of people on the street. Pippa’s glow won with over 60% of the votes. The majority of the women surveyed said they feel better about themselves and sexier when they have a tan.

Photo: Terry Richardson for LOVE magazine

Another day, another bit of news from LOVE issue six. Hey, we’re not complaining. Today brings perhaps our favorite tidbit so far: that Terry Richardson shot Liza with a Z for the high fashion book.

The 65-year-old legend (hello she’s an EGOT-er) looks pretty freaking amazing here, all Sally Bowles-ed Fosse-d out in black leather and more black eyeliner. Vogue UK reports that the rest of the Richardson-lensed editorial features Minnelli dressed as the statue of liberty. (Can we get on that? The Fashion Spot I’m looking at you.) In the accompanying story, Minnelli discusses her famous friendships with Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga and her career.

I wonder if Richardson got Minnelli to pose thumbs up with him? Read more »

God Save My Shoes is the long-awaited documentary about the relationship between women and their shoes. If that sounds a bit cheesy, well, it might be, but upon seeing some of the footage from the film, we realized they got some really good stuff. There are interviews with Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Walter Steiger, Pierre Hardy, Bruno Frisoni, and Robert Clergerie, as well as shoe-obsessed celebs like Fergie and Dita Von Teese (Coco must not have been available). The film is set to premiere in Paris during fashion week, but for now, check out this production diary which takes you inside the infamous Vogue shoe closet. Read more »

Welcome to Shark Week! Next to Fashion Week, this is my favorite stretch of the year. What could be better than a slew of programming dedicated to Australian men jumping in the water to swim with deadly predators? Or watching a massive Great White flip out of the air? This week I shall become a hermit, glued to my couch while Googling Kate Bosworth in Blue Crush and pretending I could be an oceanographer if I really wanted to. If you’re as Discovery Channel-obsessed as I am, here are some shark-themed pieces to get you in the spirit this week. Enjoy!

“I am so excited to reveal that Vera Wang is my wedding dress designer,” Kim wrote. “Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years, so when it came to picking my wedding dress designer she was the first person I thought of. No one designs gowns the way she does!”

Lauren Conrad’s role in fashion has gone from the Cali girl everyone wanted to dress like to a budding designer with some actual talent–her latest line, Paper Crown, hit stores Saturday.

While on The Hills, millions of viewers watched Lauren Conrad cry over boyfriends and fight with Speidi. But what we were all really paying attention to–subconsciously or not–was the Laguna Beach native’s easy to emulate style.

Even with her reality days behind her, Conrad continues to inspire and fuel beauty and fashion trends. We’ve rounded up ten of LC’s signiture looks–from the ever popular side braid to her new tie-dyed ombre tresses (and matching nails).
