We got the chance to check out (and road test) Marc by Marc Jacobs fall denim line and we’re happy to report that each style does what any good pair of jeans should do: make your ass look good. The MBMJ team brought in a denim specialist for the line, which includes styles ranging from skinnies to slouchy slim fit to high rise flares. We were smitten with the flares and got to pre-order a pair (thanks Marc!). The military leggings are super comfy too.

The line hits stores next month and price points range from $168 to $228. Check out our favorite styles.

Clearly, we can’t get enough of LOVE‘s forthcoming fall/winter issue. We were a little sad when we realized all eight covers had been released. The question of who does or does not use a stylist, or who lies about it, is a frequent debate in the fashion world. Recently, blogger/model Emily Sandberg directed fire from her blog, supermodelblogger, toward the practice of putting celebs on magazine covers with a post titled “Sarah Jessica Parker–Not A Style Icon”, in which she claims Parker’s style is the work of “a small army of people”, including Pat Field, not due to good personal style. And if you thought this was just idle chatter from fashion blogosphere, think again: the Daily News‘ gossip column Gatecrasher led with this story today.

Opening with a picture of the August Vogue cover, the post asks,

“How much money do you think the studios paid to put Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover of Vogue? I’ll tell you why I ask, I’d like to know how little Vogue is willing to give Sarah Jessica Parker the credit that Patricia Field deserves. Sarah Jessica Parker is not the fashion icon Anna Wintour and all the other fashion business heads want you to believe.”

At least three New York designers who typically show their collections in a presentation format are switching it up and staging runway shows for this coming fashion week.

The spring 2012 collections of Tory Burch (was a rumor but a source has confirmed to us), Marchesa (according to a tweet by Tabitha Simmons) and Timo Weiland (from the horse’s mouth) will be shown on the backs of walking models instead of standing ones. Could this be a bigger trend or does it just mean that these three particular labels have outgrown the presentation model?

How would you describe your style? I don’t have a large wardrobe. Most of the things I wear aren’t items of clothing and are stolen from my friends and housemates.

Model of every moment Freja Beha Erichsen covers the all-important September fashion Issue of British Vogue. The glossy just released the cover and Freja looks awesome in teal sequined Dolce & Gabbana. This is the first time since 2008 that someone other than Kate Moss, who just covered August and will cover American Vogue‘s September issue, has covered September.

The cover and accompanying editorial (photos after the jump) were shot by Mario Testino and the latter also stars Arizona Muse, Freja’s rumored other half. Alexandra Shulman says that the editorial “earns its place among Vogue classics.”

Paradise for those who can’t get enough Gucci. {WWD, Subscription Required}
