Happy 39th birthday, Gwynnie! Yes, it’s true, Gwyneth Paltrow turns 39 today. She has a lot to celebrate: amazing acting career, two gorgeous kids, newly-discovered singing talent, popular cookbook, devoted GOOP following.

While she’s usually characterized as a blue bloody girl-next-door type, when you look back at her fashion choices, she’s anything but prim. Gwyneth is not afraid to show some nip on the red carpet (even while posing with a First Lady), and we salute her for it. She also takes a fair amount of fashion risks, and while it sometimes doesn’t work (2002 McQueen Oscars gown) it often does (red Tom Ford for Gucci suit, anyone?)
