There is something about Katie Ermilio’s clothes that we can’t help but love. They’re somehow the perfect balance of minimalism, glamour, girlyness and sophistication. Last night, in a gallery space on Central Park West, she showed an ultra-feminine spring collection of perfectly tailored cocktail attire, which she gave us a little preview of on her Fashionista Mad Libs a couple days ago.
The colors were lovely and made the clothes pop that much more. A pair of mint green trousers instantly caught my eye as I walked in, as did an insanely chic pastel pink ankle-length pencil dress with a dramatic bow at the bottom. There were many cool little details like that–especially on the backs of dresses, an area that not all designers pay attention to.
We also loved the jewelry–a collaboration with Frieda & Nellie (who have partnered with J.Crew). The colorful, one-of-a-kind friendship bracelets and statement necklaces wouldn’t be the obvious choice to pair with Katie’s elegant wares, but it actually worked really well and gave the looks a cooler and more personal feel.
Katie was wearing a super cute shorts suit in the aforementioned pastel pink color and while the presentation had an uptown feel, she looked perfectly appropriate when we saw her later that night at a downtown party–with a pair of Valentino flats, of course. Click through for pics of the chic, yet versatile collection.
