Lindsay Lohan’s had a rough go of it. No question about it. And after all her legal troubles, drug and alcohol problems and terrible collagen injections, what the girl really needs is a comeback. I mean, hey, Britney did it right?

Well, we’re happy to report Lindsay is really trying. Case in point: The troubled star has agreed to be the face of young German designer Philipp Plein’s new spring 2012 campaign. Don’t worry, we hadn’t heard of him until now either. Remember, this is the girl who used to star in Miu Miu campaigns, for god’s sake.

No word yet on how the campaign will be styled, though in a press release Plein assures us, “Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model. We will be able to create unique images: Refined and luxurious, but also full of sensuality.”

We attended and reviewed as many shows as we could during London Fashion Week and had a great time doing it. Unfortunately, there were a few we couldn’t make it to, but we didn’t want you to miss out due to our inability to multiply ourselves. So, we added galleries from a few that we really liked. Head over to our London Fashion Week page for the spring 2012 collections of Giles, Mary Katrantzou and JW Anderson. As you can see from the above photos, they were not boring.

Images of a nearly nude Karlie Kloss shot by Mario Testino from Allure‘s October 2011 issue have started making the internet rounds. While the photos aren’t raunchy in the least, they’re still somewhat controversial given Karlie is only 19-years-old, and is often thought of (and referred to) as a “teen model.” The people over at Fashion Copious seem pretty outraged, saying, “No agent/agency should [any longer] allow their girls to be shot by Testino.”

Many Fashion Spot commenters also took issue with the shoot. Ivyinthemood said, “I don’t really like that she is naked…,” while commenter Vanity Fair said “omg, I feel that this is such [sic].. inappropriate.” Lifeispeachy seemed to sum up the general consensus, saying “it’s still so weird to see her like that.”

We have to say, we, too, were pretty surprised to see Kloss in such an overtly sexual, partially nude shoot. Read more »

For the past month, we’re sure that you’ve heard time and time again about the importance of the September issue. It is one of those fashion truths we hold to be self-evident. But what does that really mean, and why? Yes, it’s the month which produces magazines that can be used as semi-violent weapons, where ads skyrocket and page numbers are reported on covers like baseball stats, but the truth is that the content of those magazine hold what editors consider to be the best of the upcoming fall season.

For this reason, we decided to put the September issue under a microscope. We’ve scoured dozens of issues from around the world, and now it’s time to take a look at which designers, photographers and models were sought after for the most important issue of the year.

We’ll be talking about prints–especially floral ones–for a while after this fashion month. And after Mary Katrantzou’s amazing spring 2012 collection, she might be the most important name in that conversation. The colors! The florals! There were actual flowers on the runway! So awesome.
