Electric Feathers
Electric Feathers’ designer Leana Zugina draws her inspiration from moods, creating harmonious, seasonless pieces to be worn in any enviornment, day or night; what she calls “transformative” clothes. They’re certainly that– billowing, draped fabrics have hidden drawstrings, sashes or snaps to create new forms according to the wearer’s liking. Zugina is quite focused on giving the individual options and freedom to express themself, and while the colors may be monochromatic, they’re hardly bland–rich jewel tones, lux metallics, inky black pleathers. And with so many ways of styling them “boring” doesn’t even cross the mind. For her SPring 2012 presentation, Zugina has set up a changing “tent” partitioned by three cascading parachutes behind which stylists will change the models, intending to divide light and space for an ethereal atmosphere. Electric Feathers, then, is the perfect name for this brand– loose cuts, glamorous colors and interesting silhouettes speak to the modern hippie loud and clear, and you can be sure the boho city-girl set will start snapping these up soon.
