Creatures of the Wind
Chicago-based designers Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters could be the next Jack and Lazaro, which is why it’s not surprising that their line Creatures of the Wind was recently announced as one of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists. It is somewhat surprising that they stayed so under the radar until now–even if the CFDA already brought them to your attention, we wanted to doubly make sure they were on your radar. They just launched in 2010 and with only two collections under their belt, they already show a lot of promise. Their clothes are quirky with an attention to detail and a beauty that doesn’t usually accompany quirk. They’re not afraid of color and they make the kinds of clothes that, even as individual pieces, will feel special for years to come. We’re really excited about these guys.
