Burberry’s relatively new makeup range, which launched last summer, has been slowly gaining a cult following. Perhaps it won’t be quite so cult-y anymore, because you can finally get your hands on the line a little more easily. Previously available only at Nordstrom (which doesn’t exist in NYC–please get here, Nordstrom!), you can now get it at Saks in NYC and at the retailers’ website. We popped over to Saks earlier this week to check out the gorgeous collection at the shiny new counter and to get some makeup tips from Burberry’s Director of Education, John Trau.

In a short time, Burberry has carved out a niche for itself in the market–the brand is becoming known for its perfect neutrals. See the fall campaign at left if you need proof.

Most people spend fashion week flipping out over the newest clothes, trends, hair styles, shoes, sunnies, and jewels, but for model lovers it’s a perfect opportunity to scout new talent. Walking the right shows (or any shows, really) during fashion week can launch a model’s career. Walking for Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Prada, Miu Miu, [...]

Earlier this week, I stopped by a Soho showroom to check out the spring 2012 collections of Eryn Brinié and Kai-Aakmann. Both are chic, modern, affordable brands based out of Korea that we’ve really, really liked ever since they arrived stateside around 2008.

Eryn Brinié (which is not an actual person, but a name meant to evoke the Parisian feel of the brand) even had a store on the main drag of Broadway in Soho for a while, which sadly closed last year. Seeing Eryn Brinié‘s spring collection made me even more sad that I wouldn’t be able to just pop into a store (which happened to be just 4 blocks from our office) and buy the whole thing next spring. I wanted everything. It was all pared back, sweet, feminine pastel perfection. Highlights include a peachy double-breasted slouchy silk blazer, a knee-length grey dress with subtle pleating, a black bias cut dress with sheer draping on the shoulders and a simple The Row-esque white maxi skirt. The best part: it’s all under $300.

So what happened to the store?

Naughty November: Vogue Is Showing a Lot of Skin This Month

Friday, Oct 21, 2011 / 5:30 PM

The month of November brings to mind the beginning of holidays, family time, obscene shopping trips, but mostly just us bundling up in our winter coats and complaining about the cold. While the chill in the air has officially settled, you wouldn’t know it by passing your local magazine stand. Read more »

Versace’s recently-revealed collection for H&M has been creating lots of buzz on for its wild, colorful Gianni Versace-esque pieces and equally bold campaign starring model/rocker Abbey Lee Kershaw. All the hooplah is great, but what about the clothes?

While they won’t hit stores until November 17, it’s never to early to start planning your purchases. With big, crowded (as the collection launch will most likely be) stores like H&M, it can be easy to miss the good stuff. So, we’ve picked out what we believe are the standout pieces from the collection.

Click through for our favorites, plus their retail price (some may seem a bit pricy for H&M, but that’s because they’re using high-quality materials like leather and silk):

1. Does Josh think that his book vest is going to help him learn literature by osmosis?

2. Tim, have you never lived in a walk-up? Welcome to the life of a twenty-something!

3. Isn’t it funny to watch Josh speak about his love for athletics while he’s wearing a rosette on his shoulder?

4. Could they have picked an odder penthouse for the finalists to stay? Or perhaps it was the only one available during fashion week?

Beloved spa beauty brand Bliss is 15 years old this year. (That’s about the same age as Tavi, in case you were wondering.) Marcia Kilgore founded the brand back in 1996, and essentially changed the way we think about the spa experience forever. Although Kilgore sold Bliss back in 1999 (it’s been owned by LVMH, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and was acquired by Steiner Leisure last year), the brand has thrived and managed to keep its image as one of the coolest, most non-intimidating spas out there.

Times have changed drastically since 1996 (for example, Friends was on the air and Botulinim toxin was still something that could kill you), and while the Bliss girl character and her cleverly-named products are still *ahem* blissfully familiar, a lot has changed in the industry. We had an email chat with Wendy Allred, Bliss’ Director of Training & Education, about the brand, how things have changed in the spa world in the last 15 years, and the must-follow skin care advice she has for women of all ages.

Muammar Gaddafi Was So Vain, We Bet He Thought This Post Was About Him: Post-mortem tests conducted on the former Libyan leader hoped to prove the body’s identity through hair DNA samples – but it turns out he was wearing a wig. Gaddafi, who was plagued with rumors of having cosmetic procedures, was also reportedly carrying a gold plated gun when he was found yesterday… hiding in a sewage system. {Washington Post}

Versace Reissuing Classic Vintage Shirts: If you can’t wait until next month’s H&M collab and you have a spare $1,200 lying around, you can head on down to any Versace boutique right now and pick up one of their reissued vintage silk shirts. There are three options to choose from, and they’re all colorful and patterned and generally awesome. {Grazia}

Did you know that in the event of an oil spill, penguins can avoid being poisoned and/or freezing to death just by putting on a cozy sweater? It’s true. Penguin sweaters, besides being ridiculously cute, buy the little penguins time while they wait for workers to come and clean them up. Most recently, a disastrous oil spill took place off the coast of New Zealand–2,500 barrels of heavy fuel to be exact–leaving many penguins coated in oil.

However, thanks to the power of knitting, these little fellas will hopefully make it through–and continue to be the cutest things on the planet. Independent green news site Gist put out a call for knitters to knit some penguin sweaters for the oil spill victims. A New Zealand yarn store even posted patterns for penguin sweaters and judging by these pictures, penguin sweater knitters actually get pretty creative. Read more »
