Agent Provocateur Soiree 2011 from Agent Provocateur on Vimeo.

Just in time for Halloween, Agent Provocateur is getting all sexy creepy on our asses with their latest video installment, Les Fleurs du Mal, which celebrates the launch of their new Soiree 2011-2012 collection.

Written and directed by Justin Anderson and produced by Epoch Films, Les Fleurs du Mal opens with a classic horror movie trope: Read more »

Milly’s cheery spring 2012 collection was full of geometric prints and bold colors in smart, feminine silhouettes and their collaboration with Sperry Top-Sider–new for spring 2012–fits right in with that aesthetic. Michelle Smith said of the collaboration, “I’ve always adored preppy, nautical style, and was thrilled to put the Milly spin on an icon of American fashion. Working with a design team immersed in over 75 years of tradition has been very rewarding.”

While the platforms debuted on the runway last month, we got a peek at the full capsule collection at the designers’ press preview last week. They’re Sperrys like you’ve never seen them before. There is, of course, the classic boat shoe–but in vibrant colors and prints–as well as wedges, sandals and laceless canvas sneakers. There’s even a little “M” charm on each shoe, which I though was a very charming affect.

They’re even offering girls styles–speaking of which, Milly’s children’s line has expanded since last year’s launch and spring 2012 includes some of the cutest kids clothes I’ve ever seen

We love it when a designer or stylist decides to throw a cat element into a shoot for an added dash of cuteness. We love it even more, though, when they really commit. In Australian label Stylestalker’s latest look book for their “Baby’s on Fire” collection, you can tell that the model, Anja Konstantinova–who poses gracefully throughout the look book with an adorable white cat (while sometimes wearing cat ears herself)–really, really loves cats. Why? Because she has, in addition to three cats of her own, four cat-themed tattoos: “Cat” in Russian on her arm, “Meow” on her inner lower lip, “Cat” in English on the back of her neck and a drawing of a cat on her torso, all of which you can see in the first video below.

She also talks about how she gets along well with cats because she feels like she’s “a bit of a cat” herself and reckons she was a cat in a past life. She’s basically the prettiest cat lady ever.

You remember Hudson Kroenig. He’s the three-year-old son of model Brad Kroenig who melted hearts when he walked the spring 2011 Chanel show last year holding his dad’s hand. He’s also starred in a Fendi campaign, has bespoke baby Chanel clothes, and sleeps with a Karl Lagerfeld doll gifted to him by the Kaiser himself.

So naturally, a he got the Coveteur treatment. The site profiled their youngest subject ever today when they shot the closet of mini-model Hudson Kroenig. It’s adorable and ridiculous and a little unsettling all at once. Daddy Brad Kroenig, Largerfeld’s longstanding muse and pal, provides commentary which sort of reads like a SNL parody of the fashion industry. But it’s real.

Some highlights:

Fashin posted a screencap of Anna Dello Russo‘s Wikipedia page this weekend and let’s just say something’s a bit…off about it. Or as the hacker might say, it looks like it’s been “jizzed” on.

The hilariously updated tampered with page reads:

After two years of anonymous, prolific, hilarious Tweeting, @dkny, better known as DKNY PR girl, has revealed her true identity. Not that it was top secret to those in the industry, but DKNY PR girl is, of course, the inimitable Aliza Licht, SVP of Global Communications for Donna Karan. Her filter-less, insider-y, and laugh out loud funny Tweets have garnered a following of over 360,000. She set and (and still holds) the standard for what fashion brands can do on Twitter (and now Tumblr). In the video she comes clean: “Hi, my name is Aliza Licht, and I’m addicted to Twitter.” Hi Aliza!

If you want to get into PR here’s a role model for you (seriously, we think she might have a photographic memory because she remembers every face). Read more »

Karl Lagerfeld‘s resume has to be into its second bound edition by now, and it’s going to grow a lot more over the next two years. The 78-year-old Chanel designer is launching an eponymous “masstige” line which will be primarily available online, as well as re-launching a higher end collection, WWD is reporting.

The more affordable line, called Karl, will hit Net-a-Porter on January 25, and then Karl’s website, karllagerfeld.com, on February 28. It’s a 100-piece collection which the designer described as “rock” and “street” and is comprised of lots of denim and leather. While denim and leather might seemed aimed at a younger demo, Karl told WWD the collection was “ageless”–and if there’s anyone who understands ageless, it’s him. Prices will range from $95 to $450, so will sit comfortably in that sweet “contemporary” price point. Expect tons of accessories (which the company expects to account for half its revenues) and a new logo: Lagerfeld’s sunglasses-and-ponytail profile, embedded into the “K.” (Will it be the new interlocking C’s and herald the return to logo-mania? We wouldn’t be a bit surprised.)

There will be complete Lagerfeld saturation to support the Karl line:

Everyone from Kate Moss to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen to Lindsay Lohan has taken a turn as the subject of one of Terry Richardson’s “[Insert celebrity name here] as me” photographs (let’s hope they all clean behind their ears because those glasses have gotten around). The latest star to pose with Terry’s Moscots is the incomparable Beyoncé, who still looks stunning despite being cross-eyed and wearing glasses that are way too big for her face.

Terry shot Bey for the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar and that’s likely when this took place. Click through to see the requisite thumbs up pic with Terry. Love her! Read more »

Halloween is just around the corner, and while you can’t exactly wear a costume to the office, your fingertips can provide the perfect outlet for some spooky spirit. Sure, you could pick up one of the many holiday polishes out there, but what’s coolor: a trendy shade of orange, or a Goosebumps-esque slime design?

Though some forms of nail art might seem a little out of reach for those with not-so-steady hands, it’s a lot easier than you think and there are some simple Halloween designs you can do with shades you probably already have at home.

To try out nail art of your own, you’ll just need a few supplies.
Base Coat–My go-to is Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength Instant Nail Hardener. A strengthening base coat is key.
Top CoatSeche Vite is the best. Period. It’s super shiny, dries really fast, and never splinters.
Q-tips and Polish Remover–Everyone makes mistakes.
**Optional: Thin-Brush Polish–They’re great for French manicures or contrasting tips, making polka dots, stripes… everything. They’re just easier to use than regular size brushes. I recommend Hurricane, which you can find at most beauty supply stores, but Milani’s Precision Brush is good too and is available at CVS. I advise getting white and black. If you don’t have a thin brush or don’t want to buy one, don’t worry. It’s not necessary, just simpler. And if you want to do some detailing, you can always dip a pin or toothpick in your polish

Just because Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are now busy turning Kenzo into the coolest brand around, it doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about the line that started it all or that their creative energy is spent. Their latest collection for Opening Ceremony is filled with as many fun, lust-worthy pieces as we’ve come to expect from the talented duo. Not that it’s predictable–we never know what Lim and Leon are going to do next–only that it won’t be boring and we’re going to want it all.

The inspiration for spring 2012 was summer music festivals in England, Argentina and the U.S. and we bet we’ll be seeing a lot of these clothes on the backs of stylish revelers at those very festivals next year. The ’90s definitely have a presence here via babydoll silhouettes, crop tops, metallic silver pants, plaid miniskirts, varsity jackets, lots of matching tops and bottoms and off-the-shoulder body con dresses.

However, our favorite part the collection, which should come as no surprise, is the cat faces. As we’ve learned, the best way to make something better is to cover it with cats. And that is what they’ve done here.
