We love Rachel’s style and have to admit we kind of saw this coming–she was JewelMint’s first guest curator and like Kate, Rachel is one of those actresses who, regardless of whether or not she’s working on anything, is constantly in magazines and gossip blogs because of what she’s wearing. I mean, her most memorable acting role is still The O.C., which ended in 2007 and she hasn’t really fallen off our radar since. Though, her new show Hart of Dixie seems promising (right?).
Also, it’s not Rachel’s first design gig–she’s collaborated with DKNY Jeans and has a homeware line with Macy’s called Edie Rose. She said in a release,
As a designer, I’m always exploring new mediums and footwear is a category I’ve always been very passionate about, especially since I’m only a size 5. More and more, people are shopping for shoes online and with BeachMint, I have the opportunity to design not just the shoes, but the full experience for our customers, which feels more personal and rewarding for me.
Steve Madden also sounds really excited about this and even refers to Rachel as “this generation’s Jane Birkin.” She’s certainly a stylish gal and (this is kind of embarassing to admit) has been one of my style inspirations since high school, but Jane Birkin? He continues, “She has that innate, effortless style. I am so excited to design ShoeMint with her. But unlike the bag named after Jane, there won’t be a six month wait for the Bilson!”
The site will launch in late November and shoes will ring in at $79.99, according to WWD. We’re sure ShoeMint will be successful and we see many more fashion ventures in Rachel’s future. Any predictions on who the next BeachMint celeb will be? Sienna Miller?
