Yep, Wood is one of the pint-sized stars of TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras–a show that needs no introduction for its bizarre (creepy?) antics. And since becoming the face of Cicciabella, she’s also caught the eye of the fashion industry at large, so much so that she’s the subject of a profile in Footwear News, something that many bona fide designers could only dream of.
So what, pray tell, does a first-grader say in an interview?
Wood describes her style as “very girly and frou-frou,” and that as she transitions into her singing career her mother will dress her “fashionista-fabulous.” Asked what is her favorite footwear brand, Wood dutifully responded, “Cicciabella.” See, even a six-year-old can be media trained! (Although her dream shoe is a Selena Gomez-designed sneaker.)
Eden also says her favorite place to shop is “anywhere there is a shoe rack,” and that if she were to design a collection it would be, “for little girls and have pink, pink and more pink. But my mama says it can’t be all pink, so maybe a little dark pink, too.”
Eden goes on to tell the story about how she pimped her
ride Barbie car with gold spray paint that her mom had been using to paint some go-go boots. Speaking of a six-year-old wearing go-go boots, Eden’s mom told the trade, “You’re not going to tell me that my kid wearing a small heel for an hour or two a few times a month is going to scar her for life. If she wore them 24/7, I get it: not good,” she said. “But for fun, they are adorable on her. She says they make her feel like a princess, so there you go.” ”
As for how many pairs of shoes the reigning pageant princess owns, Eden says, “More than I can even count.” But then, for a six-year-old, that may not be too high.
