The Best Shoes From the Spring 2012 Shows
By Steff Yotka
While everyone else had their eyes firmly glued to the clothing trends of the spring 2012 season, I was fixated on the feet.
Shoe trends for spring come in two varieties, crazy and over-the-top or minimal and functional. The most obvious extremes are Versace’s see-through mega heels (6 inches or more!) versus Comme des Garçons’ white, almost sterile boots. In the interim are Dries van Noten’s simple strappy sandals, Chanel’s mod booties, Prada’s race car heels, Miu Miu’s kitschy knee-highs, and Proenza Schouler’s synthetic wedges.
If that’s not enough shoe porn for a long weekend, then I think you have a serious addiction.
