Box, accordion, top-stitch, knife, plisse... the parade of pleats this spring has been a bit overwhelming, though quite welcome. While they come in many forms, designers are favoring sheer fabrics for pleated skirts. In fact, despite being a familiar trend which has been kicking around for the past few seasons, it seems to have gained some additional momentum, as we've noticed Prada and Chloe using the technique for their spring collections. The thought of pleated skirts may bring to mind flouncy cheerleading uniforms, but we're happy to report that the lengths tend to be more midi than mini--perfect for swishing flirtatiously.
