Behold: Andrej Pejic on the cover of Out Magazine. Sigh, could he be any prettier?
Pejic is one of four cover stars for the Out100 issue, with the other covers going to playwright Larry Kramer, Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Kathy Griffin.
Pejic was also named Stylemaker of the Year, and inside the issue, there’s a characteristically funny and candid interview with him. Our favorite part? When Pejic says of his meeting with the Queen of England, where he wore a vintage leather Versace pencil skirt: “Let’s face it, we all love a good queen. I went for a ’90s Sharon Stone look. The palace was beautiful; I felt right at home.”
But while meeting the Queen was certainly a highlight, Pejic’s road to success hasn’t always been easy. “The truth is I have to work twice as hard to be taken as seriously as the top girls. I understand that it will take time for me to prove that I’m actually a good model once you look past the media hype and the uniqueness of my looks,” he told the magazine. “But hey, I’m not the first that has had to fight.”
And, like female models, Pejic’s had his fair share of skeevy fashion shoots. “I have been asked to get aroused for a shot” he said. “I declined. I like to serve beauty, not porn.” Hmm…we wonder what photographer that could have been…
