“I think after six years of working in the accessories department at ELLE, now is the right time to move on to a position where I can contribute more to the look of a magazine,” Anderson told us in an email. “And for me, working for Nina Garcia again and Marie Claire is the ideal fit.” Nina gave Kyle his start at ELLE six years ago and since then the two have remained close–back in August Kyle told Smart Chic Style: “I owe everything and all of my last six years of experiences at ELLE to [Nina] for taking a chance on me.”
Needless to say, the accessories editor is happy to be reunited with his mentor at Marie Claire. “We share the same aesthetic and always covet the same accessories and collections. It’s important to work for someone who 9 times out of 10 agrees with your fashion choices,” he told us.
But will Anderson fill the street-style-fodder void that’s opened up since Tomasi departed? If Anderson’s personal site, where he posts daily looks, is any indication: Yes. “I always dress for myself to feel great,” he told us. “If people like my style and I can make people excited to try new things or to go shopping then that’s amazing.”
