Meet your new online obsession: Veteran stylist (and Fashionista contributor) Sally Lyndley’s just-launched trend-forecasting site For Those Who Notice.

For Those Who Notice is “a cheat sheet of fashion’s most influential inspiration,” culled from the world’s best designers, stylists, hair stylists, makeup artists and casting directors. Lyndley’s certainly got the qualifications and connections to bring you the inside scoop: She’s a contributing editor at LOVE, has styled shoots for Teen Vogue, Vogue US and Pop, worked with fast fashion retailers and frequently rubs shoulders with the industry’s biggest players.

Actually, it was in the course of her work as a stylist that she came up with the idea of starting FTWN. “A couple of years ago I began working with mass market brands and more fast fashion style brands for the first time in my career, and I saw a huge void in access to well-edited creative information from the collections and fashion movements,” Lyndley told us. “The ‘trending’ companies these fast fashion brands were using were just telling them to copy looks and designers, without saying why that look is relevant or considering that no company should be blatantly knocking off another.”

It’s officially chilly out, so that means it’s time to start thinking about your holiday nail wardrobe (yes, you need a holiday nail wardrobe). While red is obviously a classic (and look how amazing it is on Karlie Kloss in Dior’s beauty holiday campaign), and we’ve been wearing a lot of it this fall, there are tons of other offerings out there. From pearly neutrals to metallics to the highest concentration of glitter you’ve ever seen, you are a complete Grinch if you can’t find something suitable.

Click through to see all the little bottles we hope to find in our stockings this year.

Yesterday morning, over espresso shots and oatmeal at Barneys new interactive genes@CO-OP cafe (each place setting has a touch screen so you can browse Barneys on a flat screen before you shop it IRL), Christopher Kane presented his new resort collab for J Brand.

Kane’s line is synonymous with neon (“it’s part of my DNA now” he said) so it’s no surprise that his collection for the denim powerhouse, the first of many, is DayGlo-tastic. There are flares and shorts in bubble gum pink, highlighter yellow and safety cone orange with cute little cropped jean jackets to match. The line is available now at Barneys and everything is under $300.

J Brand’s founder and CEO Jeff Rudes interviewed the charming and humble Glaswegian designer about fast food, TV, oh, and fashion.

Padma Lakshmi, Alice Temperley

On Wednesday night, I set foot in one of the most jealousy-inducing Manhattan lofts ever for an intimate soirée to celebrate the launch of Alice Temperley’s book True British: Alice Temperley (Rizzoli New York, 2011) and the 10 year anniversary of her label, Temperley London. Alice and friends/well-wishers like Padma Lakshmi, Derek Blasberg and Hamish Bowles were in attendance.

While a video of a hand flipping the pages of Alice’s book was projected onto a screen, we got a chance to chat with the designer about new projects and Pippa Middleton, who, as you might remember, attended only one show during London Fashion Week and that was Temperley. Even though we knew Pippa was a fan of the brand, we figured getting her to attend only your show must have taken some sort of PR magic. In fact, it was the easiest thing in the world.

Marilyn Monroe Exhibit Draws Classy Fash Crowd: No angel-wing-and-thong ensembles here. A collection of rare photos of the ill-fated starlet titled Picturing Marilyn opened last night at Milk Gallery to a stylish group including Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, and Georgina Chapman. Dree Hemingway had the honor of wearing a stunning Dior-created replica of the black dress worn my Ms. Monroe in her “Last Sitting” photographs. {WWD}

Armani Opens New Hotel, Wishes He Were an Architect: Giorgio Armani, who has just opened his newest luxury hotel in Milan and has plans for several others in Paris, New York, and London, says that he wishes he could “have a fresh start as an architect.” If only the 77-year-old had the eternal youth of fellow Italian Roberto Cavalli, he’d still have at least 43 years to make that dream a reality. {Telegraph}

Vogue was right: It really is the year of the sisters!

occupy-wall-street

One-percenter Jay-Z (or whomever designs his clothing line, Rocawear) has found inspiration in Occupy Wall Street. The simple black tee features the phrase “Occupy Wall Street” but with the “W” scribbled out and an “s” added at the end to read, “Occupy All Streets.” Clever, maybe, but supportive? Maybe not.

Jay-Z’s friend Kanye West recently showed up to an Occupy Wall Street march wearing a $355 Givenchy shirt, and this tee, which is supposed to be available to purchase some time today, may not be any more OWS-appropriate. According to Business Insider, profits from the tee will all go to Rocawear and not the social movement it calls attention to.

“There are a lot of pop stars making fashion collections – Kylie and J.Lo, Puff Daddy and Kanye West…Maybe next season, [Domenico Dolce and I] should sing a song.”

Last night, Kate Middleton and Prince Wills hosted a charity dinner to raise money for the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal, the Daily Mail is reporting. 120 guests attended the dinner, the Prince made a few speeches, and the whole thing was one, big, classy affair. Not too shabby for the couple’s first dinner party!
