We got to attend a presentation during which Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi herself talked about her new fragrance, called Snooki by Nicole Polizzi. The room was completely snooked out, featuring lots of hot pink and animal print, piles of Snooki Slippers for the taking, and yummy treats like mini-cheeseburgers and cupcakes. While waiting, we were encouraged to take some Snooki swag, and we can say this: Everyone we know is getting Snooki Slippers for Christmas this year. They are the most comfortable things ever. (Her sunglasses? Too guidette for our taste.) We also declined getting snookified by her new app, called “Snookify Me.” (Now kind of regretting not doing it, though. Would be an excellent Twitter avatar.)
When conceptualizing her fragrance, Snooki wanted it to be “bubbly, cute, flirtatious” and “tacky and gaudy, just like me.” To this end, the bottle is covered with pink and purple animal print, glitter, and studs. The scent itself features notes of chilled lychee, and something called
“pink cupcake accord” and “sexy woods”. (After we sprayed it on in the bathroom at home, we were asked, “Why does it smell like a cupcake in here?” So…spot-on with the cupcake accord, Snooki!)
It’s apparently a hit with the guys, too. After she sprayed it and “cuddled” with her boyfriend, he declared that he liked it. “I know when girls wear it and they’re trying to find their guy, they’re definitely gonna get him with my perfume,” Snooki concluded. It will be available for all your man-hunting needs via an HSN special on November 10, then at Perfumania starting at the end of the month ($45).
After the presentation, we caught up with Snooki to find out about her future plans and what she thinks about her
What perfume did you wear before this?
I didn’t really wear anything, because I couldn’t find anything. I would always switch. I had 10 things of perfume and I’d never know what to wear because I didn’t really like any of it. I like when someone just sticks to a scent because when you smell it you think of that person.
How often do you get you nails done? [Ed.Note: Her nails were insane. See above.]
I usually get a fill every three weeks, and I go in Jersey. There’s a great place, Nail Show, in East Hanover and they do amazing things. I usually make up the design, I tell them what I want on the nail and they just do it. The great thing about it is that I’m actually working on my nail line. So I have neon nail polish coming out, maybe for the holidays I think, if they get it in time. And I’m doing the stickers! Every design I get on my nails I’m gonna make into a sticker.
What do you see yourself doing after Jersey Shore is over?
Well, I have my spin-off with Jenni which we’re filming in January. I kinda want to show the other side of us, not drinking and partying. And also I want to build my business. I want a big brand. I want to be like Jessica Simpson. Like, total business woman. In 10 years I want to be able to take care of my family and not have any worries.
What would you like to say to your detractors who criticize you?
I really don’t care what they think. And they just need to get out of my way. That’s all. ‘Cause they’re probably gonna be the ones buying my stuff.
