The Winter and Holiday Nail Polish Collections Have Arrived! Here Are The 12 Best

It's officially chilly out, so that means it's time to start thinking about your holiday nail wardrobe (yes, you need a holiday nail wardrobe). While red is obviously a classic (and look how amazing it is on Karlie Kloss in Dior's beauty holiday campaign), and we've been wearing a lot of it this fall, there are tons of other offerings out there. From pearly neutrals to metallics to the highest concentration of glitter you've ever seen, you are a complete Grinch if you can't find something suitable. Click through to see all the little bottles we hope to find in our stockings this year.

Deborah Lippmann Fashionista Collection: Well, this one was sort of a no-brainer (but sadly, this collection was not formulated for us, but for Neiman Marcus). But we approve. The three new colors--Envy Me, Sweet Spot, and Milkshake--are pearly, but not overly sparkly, making them great for wearing even after your New Year's hang over wears off. (

Butter London 2011 Holiday Collection: We love anything butter does, and this holiday collection is no exception. The colors--Fairy Lights, Tart with a Heart, and the Black Knight--are pinky-purple pastel yumminess. (

Dior Vernis Holiday Collection: This rather posh collection is all about the gold--different shades of reds and golds flecked with--you guessed it--gold. Colors are: Apparat, Merveille, Equis (the nail blogs are raving about this one), Or Divin. (

Zoya Gems and Jewels: We've always wondered what the difference between a gem and a jewel is, and while we're still not sure, here is Zoya's take on it. There are three jewel toned metallics (Izzy, Holly, Noel) and three sheer glitters (Kissy, Rina, Twila) which can be worn alone or as top coats. (

MAC Dazzleshpere Ornament Mini Nail Kit: It's nail polish, but in an ornament. This one holds four shades--Mistletoe (gold), Much Adored (pearl white), Style Tip (nude), and Dark Angel (purple). (

Nars Night Series: This is another collection that will take you past the holidays and on into spring. The colors range from pastel to a deep blue--Night Rider, Night Porter, Night Breed, Night Flight. Sweet dreams. (

Nails Inc Glitterati: It's glittery all right. (

Yves Saint Laurent Holiday Nail Trio: Another jewel-toned metallic collection, this one includes Black Indigo, Black Lapis, Black Bronze. (

Color Club Backstage Pass: In case everything we've shown you so far isn't glittery enough, this collection should do the trick. The colors--Take the Stage, Wish Upon a Star, Backstage Pass, Platinum Record, It's a Hit, Fame & Fortune--are packed with big chunks of glitter in every possible color. (

China Glaze Eye Candy: Once again, another collection loaded with glitter. The six colors include: (from L-R top) Marry a Millionaire, Material Girl, Some Like It Haute and (from L-R bottom): Blonde Bombshell, Lorelei's Tiara, Love Marilyn. (

Essie Bling It On: To give your eyes a rest, here's Essie's lovely holiday collection, which despite its name, is not that blingy, though it's an homage to jewelry. The six soothing colors include: Cocktail Bling, Bangle Jangle, Bobbing for Baubles, Size Matters, Brooch the Subject, School of Hard Rocks. But if you need a little sparkle, for the first time ever, Essie is offering some glitter options with its Lux Effects collection of top coats (below). Choose from As Gold As It Gets, Shine of the Times, A Cut Above, Pure Pearlfection, Set in Stones.
