In the somewhat mind-blowing video above, a 24-year-old part-time Louis Vuitton sales associate is performing impressive yo-yo tricks in the middle of the store at which he works in the Phillipines–and not because they were having a slow day. Louis Vuitton CEO (until the end of next year) Yves Carcelle was there for some sort of cocktail party in his honor. It was revealed that the sales associate, Ernest Kahn, happens to be the Philippines’ two-time national yo-yo champion, so Kahan put on a suit and performed. Read more »

Along with making ridiculously sexy heels that pretty ladies love to wear–from both his main line collection and his B Brian Atwood diffusion line–shoe designer Brian Atwood has entered the mini-movie business. Well, sort of. Unveiled in November, the B Brian Atwood “Vibrant Tears Killer Heels” video basically represents color-blocking through, well, a model crying candy-colored paint tears all over her smoking hot and unclothed body, to finally drip onto a diabolical Resort ’11 platform pump. Now the dishy designer is at it again with a racy new vid promoting another pair of come-hither fringed strappies for his Spring ‘12 B collection.

We were lucky enough to receive an exclusive invitation to drop by the steamy video shoot at Triad, a teeny burlesque-style theater located above a Turkish restaurant on W. 72nd Street (who knew?). We arrived as a very leggy model was in full rehearsal mode, shaking her groove thing in killer heels and lingerie for the directors. All in a day’s work. Then we headed upstairs to the balcony overlooking the action for a nice chat with the dreamy Atwood (honestly, his handsomeness is distracting). Keep an eye out for the completed video in January 2012, but in the meantime, here are the designer’s thoughts on his B line, Manolo Blahnik’s well-documented hatred of platforms, and that notorious Hollywood diva – Miss Piggy:

CPP-giftguide50_150017687672

Vogue.com just put out their annual gift guide. They’re calling it the “Perfectly Extravagant” holiday gift guide and Candy Pratts Price’s 48 suggestions are definitely extravagant, though we’re not sure about the ‘perfect’ part. The gifts, most of which cost upwards of $1,000, are pretty far out of reach for most people, which we guess is the point (Vogue.com calls them “wildly extravagant, over-the-top, wish-upon-a-star”), but some of them are just confusing, as are the suggestions for why each impractical fantasy item would make a good gift.

From a $145,000 diamond-encrusted reindeer to a $1,500 towel, click through to see some of Vogue‘s more absurd suggestions. Would you buy any of these items if money was no object?

Beware The Hypodermic Needles at WalMart: Shoppers at a WalMart in Cartersville, Georgia were surprised with a little treat of the hypodermic needle sort. A 14-year-old girl was stabbed with one while trying on pajamas, and an older woman was pricked when she reached into a bra box. {Gawker}

Harper Beckham Has an Extensive Dress Collection: It seems daddy David Beckham is really enjoying shopping for his baby girl. “She has so many little dresses! I didn’t realize how excited I would get over buying hair bows!” Cute! {Us Weekly}

“There will be many small Armanis in my company to continue my work but there will be no genius capable of taking on all this. That would mean defrauding myself and my seriousness.”

Before noon on Tuesday, a queue of well-dressed and platform heeled women was quickly growing outside a chic Nolita storefront. No, it wasn’t for an an end-of-year sample sale–it was to meet stylist/fashion designer/reality star/editor and all around fashion obsession Rachel Zoe.

The always-glam Piperlime guest editor (love the side part, by the way) was on hand to show off her top holiday picks from the online retailer and take photos with the first 10 fans in line. Loyal viewers of the Rachel Zoe Project also got an extra treat since Zoe brought along her entire entourage including her husband and business partner Rodger Berman, Rachel Zoe Inc. VP Mandana Dayani and styling assistant/bestie Joey Malouf. (And no Jeremiah Brent…hmm…)

An AK-47, the world’s most distributed assault rifle, conjures up a lot of images–and usually pretty jewelry isn’t one of them. But thanks to new jewelry company and nonprofit organization Fonderie47 that might soon be changing and for a good cause too, reports the New York Times.

Struck by the profusion of AK-47s on a 2008 trip to Kenya, humanitarian leader Peter Thum saw an opportunity to get the guns off the street–and make something beautiful in the process. He, along with John Zapolski, soon founded Fonderie47, a jewelry company that creates original, high-fashion “wearable art” out of recovered AK-47 gun metal. “We saw the AK-47 as an opportunity because it’s such a successful design,” Thum told the New York Times. “It’s something that’s globally recognizable. What better way to turn things around than with this object, which represents so many things ugly, and turn it into something beautiful?”

Karlie Kloss Is Very Naked in Vogue Italia

Thursday, Dec 1, 2011 / 9:00 AM

That taste of Karlie’s gams on the cover of Vogue Italia we were treated to a few days ago is mere child’s play compared to what’s been unleashed inside the mag. Karlie earned herself an 18-page spread shot by Steven Meisel, and it shows off her crazy-toned, long-limbed body–she looks amazing naked and we suspect it’s hard to get photographers to keep her clothes on. If you need some New Year’s fitness motivation, read on. Read more »
