Mulberry Taps New CEO: Mulberry named Hermes’ managing director, Bruno Guillon, as CEO this morning and as a result their shares rose 4.2 percent to 14.69 pounds, or $22.77 at current exchange, on the London Stock exchange. {WWD, subscription required}

A Peek Into The Bizarre World of Courtney Love: The singer gives good friend and Hole drummer Scott Lipps a tour of her closet, and talks, among other things, about her new line Never the Bride, what designers she’s really into and of course, her late husband, Kurt Cobain. The best part, though, is when she says Karl Lagerfeld told her “You are not getting laid in a tutu,” one time at the Mercer. Amen to that! {Stylelist}

Nobody wants to come back from the beach with awkward tan lines. But Jenni Farley, aka JWoww, really doesn’t like tan lines. And obviously, tanning is extremely important to any cast member of the Jersey Shore. So JWoww is diving back into the fashion biz to hawk a new line of bikinis that are basically pasties. Really tiny pasties. That you can only wear 10 to 15 times.

Gawker pointed us to the website of the bikini brand JWoww is doing a line for, PerfectTanBikini, which explains the groundbreaking technology behind these gravity-defying barely there suits. Thankfully, they’ve anticipated all your questions such as:

Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna: When are you going to learn to stop ripping off photographers’ work?

In October, the songstress settled out of court for an “undisclosed sum” with David LaChapelle over her S&M video, which allegedly cribbed directly from his work–and she faced another lawsuit from photographer Philipp Paulus over a scene in the same video, which was undeniably similar to an editorial he shot a year beforehand. But, from the looks of her latest video “You Da One,” Rihanna has even more legal troubles ahead of her. Read more »

They just don’t know when to stop, do they? After Eva Hoeke’s resignation on Tuesday from her post as Editor-in-Chief of Jackie magazine for calling Barbadian singer Rihanna a Jamaican “niggabitch” with a “ghetto ass,” publisher Yves Gijrath has released a statement saying the magazine has nothing to apologize for, and “will not be silenced.” Jezebel got their hands on this translation of Gijrath’s statement via Villamedia:

[T]here is nothing wrong in the magazine. [Hoeke] presented it as a joke, but it most certainly was not a joke. It was an interpretation [of a fashion style]…She should have said: “we did not realize this interpretation is such a touchy subject. We never meant any harm and offer our sincere and upright apologies.” But because of all the fuss, Eva started to wiggle in all directions, and therefore we have come to the conclusion her credibility has been undermined.

In short, they’re sorry people were offended, but they’re not sorry they used the word. While we find it extremely difficult to believe that the publishers were unaware of the controversial nature of the ‘N’ word, It seems Mr. Gijrath just doesn’t get the point.

Guess stripping down for Playboy really was worth it, because thanks to the risque shoot, Lindsay Lohan has nabbed the, um, covetable role as the face of Jag Jeans.

Apparently photographer Yu Tsai was so impressed with Lohan when he shot her for the famous girlie mag that he cast her in this ad campaign, which he also lensed, E! Online is reporting. Read more »

Yesterday Derek Lam sent Ivanka Trump Footwear a cease-and-desist letter requesting Trump stop selling her ‘Cadie’ wedge sandal, which Lam alleges “blatantly and intentionally copied” his Ayami wedge sandal. To glance at the two shoes, there’s no doubt about it: they look identical. “It’s such an investment to make a shoe…we had to protest this,” Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann, chief executive officer of Derek Lam told WWD.

But Marc Fisher, which produces Ivanka Trump Footwear, is refuting Lam’s charges. How?

Remember when Caroline Trentini flaunted that fluffy kitty on her shoulder as though it was the latest accessory? Considering our love for feisty felines, we certainly do. It’s not too often that something other than a human graces the cover of a fashion magazine, but when it does it’s hard to forget. How can anyone possibly forget the bizarre, though strangely cute Elle Taiwan cover with Hello Kitty (though she does get in on a technicality considering she’s likely made up of more high density foam and nylon fleece compared to the other animals)? It’s a clever ruse by magazines as animals are a great way to attract attention and break from the mold of newsstands lined with one celebrity after another.

While puppies and kittens make sense (they’re just so freaking cute), we can’t really conceive of reasons why chickens (yes, plural), snakes, or alligators are chosen to accompany a model or celebrity on a cover, but it happens all the same. Case in point: 2011. This year was a virtual zoo, so we wanted to share our favorite animal kingdom covers.

Which animal is your favorite cover accessory?

While the endless Milan/New York fashion week show dates debate has, for the most part, been one serious headache for the fashion industry, there is at least one good thing to have come out of it: It’s opened up a discussion about whether or not the current show system is still functional.

The most recent person to weigh in on the matter is WWD‘s Bridget Foley, who wrote a small essay on the subject in today’s paper. Foley seems to agree with CFDA President Diane Von Furstenberg’s assertion that “New York, London, Milan and Paris are not four separate, independent entities but one long fashion train with four stops,” and therefore they need to compromise and remain unified. But, Foley adds, that might be sort of besides the point. “Maybe…the dates dilemma merely obscures the real problem…” she wrote, “Maybe the reality of today’s industry no longer jibes with the once tidy flow of shows from city to city.”

Dear Jackie,

I’m still pissed that you called Rihanna the “Ultimate Niggabitch.”

I know, I know, why can’t I get over it? The editor, Eva Hoeke, resigned and issued two sincere “apologies.” Well, you see, the thing is, your flippant use of the word is pretty fucked up. Especially when I read that Hoeke initially tried to brush off the debacle on Twitter as being a joke, a “slang word” that is supposedly used by us in the United States.

I’m not sure where she or you got your information from, but you’ve clearly been shown through social media backlash that you were wrong: it’s not a joke, it’s not “slang” that we all use. Actually, I take that back. I do know where you got this idiotic idea:

DVD Release of HBO Video's "Rome" - Inside

Earlier this year, several Target x Missoni shoppers had their online orders cancelled due to a computer glitch on the Target website. While the retailer could credit a server crash and the outrageous demand for the limited edition capsule collection during that debacle, we wonder what Barney‘s excuse for canceling online order just days before Christmas.

The luxury retailer emailed customers four days before Christmas, informing them that due to technical problems with their system, their Holiday orders will not be filled this year, Racked is reporting. Here’s the email customers received:

How would you describe your style? Rayanne Graff meets Patti Smith. There’s nothing that I wouldn’t wear and that’s what I love about Rayanne. She can put on anything and make it look good.

So, there’s nothing you wouldn’t wear? Maybe not a hot pink Juicy tracksuit, but you never know, 20 years from now it could be ironic to wear one. I think it’s how you wear it and quality over quantity with clothing.
