Watch: Anna Wintour Talks About the Vogue Archives–Here’s How You Can Get Access Without Shelling out $1500
By Cheryl WischhoverWe didn’t quite make it to our TV in time on Sunday morning to catch Anna Wintour on CBS’ Sunday Morning, but that’s why the internet exists, right? We checked out the 8-minute long profile, which was more a look back at Vogue and its covers than a meaty interview with its EIC. But it is definitely worth a watch. Besides the nostalgia and fashion history lesson (and the fact that the adorable Hamish Bowles walks Serena Altschul through the covers and digital archive), there’s some hope that people who don’t have $1,500 to blow on yearly access will get a chance to have a peep at that intriguing archive.
We already knew that students will be able to access the archive gratis, but at around 6:45 in the interview, Serena mentions that “soon” Vogue subscribers will have “some” access to the archives. It’s vague and unclear actually how much “some” means, but for a $15 annual subscription, it could be a really nice perk. Well done, Vogue subscription marketing people. We’re totally renewing ours.
