So often, it’s the hot, new–and young–actresses that get all the red carpet love at award shows. Not so at last night’s Golden Globes.

From Diane Lane, to Elle MacPherson to Jane Fonda (seriously, how does she look like that at 74?) last night’s red carpet was owned by the 45+ crowd. And might we say it was a refreshing (and inspiring!) change. Click through to see our favorite looks, from some of our favorite ladies.

Only one question remains: How in the world are they doing it? Is it something in the water? A Death Becomes Her elixir? Benjamin Button disease? Or just lots of money and great plastic surgery? Whatever it is, they’re doing it right.
