Moda Operandi Artistic Director Taylor Tomasi Hill obviously loves her some designer duds, and we can’t fault her for that. But it looks like she might have loved her labels a little too much when designing her collection for Lane Crawford.
Elle.com‘s sharp-eyed news editor (and former Fashionista editor) pointed out that the navy strapless frock from Taylor‘s Lane Crawford collaboration bares a striking resemblance to one that Marc Jacobs sent down the runway back in 2008 for his Marc by Marc collection. Actually, scratch that: The two dresses are pretty well identical. And this is no standard LBD either: the piping, tailoring and asymmetrical ruffle make it a pretty unique design and therefore a pretty easy knockoff to spot.

But that’s not all: The blue striped blouse with cutout shoulders looks remarkably similar to a Commes des Garcons one the editor wore–and got street style snapped in–back in September 2009, while attending a J. Mendel presentation.
Tsk, tsk, it’s too bad because the rest of the collection is super cute. And, as a fashion industry insider, Taylor should have known better!
Take a look at the whole collaboration, which you can purchase now at Lane Crawford (yes, even in the U.S!), below.
