In 2005, Alber won the CFDA’s coveted International Designer Award. 2007 was an even bigger year for the designer: He garnered France’s Legion of Honour award in January, was chosen as one of Time‘s 100 Most Influential People in the World in May, and that September was awarded the F.I.T. Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion.
