A Week in Brad Goreski's (Plaid, Embroidered and Studded!) Christian Louboutins

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a professional stylist, a powerful editor or a Hollywood heavyweight? Every Friday, we will ask an inspirational industry professional to fill in the blanks using their own words and photos. For our very first profile, we couldn’t think of anyone more fitting than Rachel-Zoe-protégé-turned-star-stylist, Brad Goreski. From uncovering untapped talent (hello, Linda!) to lending a fellow stylist some last minute "blanky blank," a week in Brad's world is basically one giant P.O.C (that's Pop of Color, for the uninitiated.) When we caught up with the talented Mr. Goreski in L.A. Thursday evening, he was prepping for four upcoming fittings. Ever the gentleman, he indulged us by recapping a week spent zigzagging the country in a pair of gingham (and gifted!) Louboutins. Click through to check out his candids:

This is me and Linda Gerard, the hostess of the restaurant at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, where I was shooting Kate Spade's summer video campaign. You can't quite see it in the photo, but she is wearing a necktie over her sweater. Linda was Barbra Streisand's understudy in Funny Girl and a former Provincetown bar owner, who currently hosts Sissy Bingo at the Ace. She's a lesbian and has gay twins! Apparently they are making a documentary about her right now, so she was asking me what it's like to be on reality TV...

This is me on the Palm Springs set of the Kate Spade shoot. I am taking a swig from my favorite beverage: Diet Coke with a splash of Diet Dr. Pepper. What can I say? I'm keeping it real! My ring is by Hoorsenbuhs. I am a huge fan of their jewelry.

This is me and my boyfriend Gary with Andy Cohen and Sandra Bernhard on the New York set of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. Sandra is hilarious and Gary and I have known her for quite some time. She is one of the most original, unique performers and no one can do what she does. Andy is exactly what you'd expect: funny and engaging!

Back in L.A., this is my BFF (and fellow stylist) Danielle Nachmani. She was working on a job and was like, "I need a few extra 'blanky blank'," so I was like, "Come by the studio!" I gave her that orange bag because she needed a pop of color. She was like, "You actually got me, who's usually dressed in all black, to add color." And I was like, "That's the power of fashion. We can change each other up and push each other to be better!"

This is my dog, Penelope. This is exactly what happens every time I come home. She just offers herself up! Even if I just went to the gym, it's this big process when I get back. It's the cutest thing ever and the best welcome home.

This is a shot of my Christian Louboutins backstage. A tip I've learned from clients is that a good pair of shoes can make any interview better. Christian Louboutins are my favorite and I actually picked up this pair that day. They have everything I love: plaid, studs, patent leather and embroidery!

This is backstage at Watch What Happens Live. [Seventeen editor] Annebet [Duvall] is my backstage partner in crime at talk shows. She comes and supports and always makes me laugh. The three of us rarely get to hang out and this was the only opportunity I had to see her on my trip to New York. She does not take a bad picture; it's so annoying!

This is the cover of my book, Born to be Brad. This is the first time I've actually seen it in the flesh and it exceeded my, admittedly high, expectations! It comes out March 6.
