Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Fall 2012: Lolita Heads to the Red Carpet

Last night we popped down to Chelsea (along with Kevin Jonas, Kristin Chenoweth, and Jenna Dewan) to sip champagne, nosh on Magnum ice cream bars, and chat with adorable Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet about her fall 2012 vision for fashion. “I always take into consideration the Alice + Olivia girl and who she is, and then I think about who I want her to be,” explains Bendet, who was all dressed up in a floor-length black and gold sequined gown topped with a turban-style hat. “This season she’s a sexy, rebellious Lolita-inspired vixen who can also play the charming innocent schoolgirl.”

Forty-four fabulous looks were on display, all of which were in line with Bendet’s usual party-perfect and playful aesthetic, and focused around cool cargo pants, versatile sequined tops, fabulous flouncy skirts, and lush furs in a plethora of prints and a variety of colors, but approximately 15 of the looks showcased Bendet’s first foray into glamorous eveningwear. “People are really excited about the gowns—it’s our first step into formalwear,” she exclaimed. “Designing them was so fun!”
