But what we really mean by “big deal” is that for the designers, having a starlet wear your frock on the red carpet and spouting your name to every news outlet that asks “who are you wearing?” is major. The amount of publicity that a designer gets from such high-wattage stars wearing their creations is priceless–so priceless that sometimes they pay big bucks for deals with the lovely ladies, as the New York Post reported last week.
