Sneak Peek: Mad for Maje for Fall

Thank goodness Maje, the French high street label, has an outpost in New York now. The brand, and its sister Sandro (literally the two brands are owned by sisters), both showed up stateside this year to well-deserved buzz. Both labels consistently put out luxe looking pieces-- boiled down looks from the best of the last season's runways--and voila, instant Parisian street chic! (You can shop both brands online, too). We previewed the fall collection yesterday and, yes, it's really good.

We previewed the fall collection yesterday and, yes, it's really good. The outerwear was an easy standout: embellished coats with fur (at the shoulders and in strips across the front--see my favorite coat, above left); leather lapels on slim cut black blazers; and furry motorcycle jackets. Other favorites? Bold stripe-y prints on soft knit mini skirts and on a blazer with leather sleeves (the colors look a bit fall 2011 Proenza-y), and a printed brocade pants suit (so if you still haven't purchased your printed pants yet, they've got a nice understated option).

We'll post the full look book later this month so stay tuned. I know it's spring and all but I'm really craving a new fall coat now...
