Sophie Theallet never fails at making timeless, uber-pretty, elegant, yet accessible dresses that we want to wear and be pretty in. This season, she did that once again, but there was a little more. The hair was chic but a little messy and the eyes were smokey. There was a bohemian vibe in mixed vintage prints and unlikely layering--like a satin dress over a wool turtleneck in mismatched colors or a teal cardigan with a printed satin scarf tied around the waist
There was also a slinky, seductive feel to figure-hugging dresses and skirts and several up-to-there slits on otherwise demure wrap dresses. Of course, there were also those classic circle skirt silhouettes that Michelle Obama, who has worn Theallet on multiple occasions, would not mind one bit.
Towards the end, hemlines got a little longer and there were a few gorgeous gowns that made me wonder--why don't we see Sophie Theallet on the red carpet very often (It's hard not to have these thoughts when fashion week is during awards season)? Maybe this will be her year.
Overall, it was a mix of colors, quirkiness, eccentricity, sex appeal and glamour that totally worked. Click through to see the full collection.
