Two blond ladies from somewhat opposite ends of the spectrum, career-wise and age-wise, star in the latest campaign for Uniqlo. Echoing the presumably diverse age range of Uniqlo’s customer base, there’s 15-year-old Tavi Gevinson and 58-year-old Cyndi Lauper (though Lauper might say they’re the same age at heart).
Here, they’re promoting Uniqlo’s adorable collaboration with Orla Kiely as well as the Japanese retailer’s new bright colored bottoms. We like it because it looks like something Tavi, who has toned down her style a bit since her early blogging days, would actually wear.
We’re of course most interested in Tavi’s participation in these ads. Modeling is a new venture for the “blogging prodigy and journalistic talent,” as she is described in a Uniqlo press release. Add that to writing, editing, and singing and this girl is basically unstoppable and poised for a varied and fruitful career.
