If you're wondering how much progress the fashion industry has made in creating healthier working conditions for models, particularly young teen ones, well, not very much. To wit, images of a recent Pop editorial shot by photographer Tyrone Lebon, have surfaced on Jezebel, depicting 16-year-old Hailey Clauson posing with a nude porn star and being strangled by an unseen man. Yes, that's strangled.

Glamorizing violence against women is never okay--but certainly the fact that Clauson is only 16 and relatively new to the industry (and therefore less empowered) makes the editorial a whole lot more disturbing. Especially since, as Jezebel points out, young teen girls are among the most likely groups to suffer from violence at the hands of men.

Less offensive, but still icky, are the pictures of Clauson holding hands with two full-frontal nude women, one of whom is a porn star. Now we don't necessarily have a problem with naked ladies in our magazines but there's definitely something a bit creepy about these two pictures, given Clauson's age. And it's particularly strange, given that, in 2011, Clauson's parents filed suit against photographer Jason Lee Parry for snapping a "salacious" photo of the then-15-year-old model, which later wound up on t-shirts being sold at Urban Outfitters, who the couple is also suing. And while the suit against Parry was dropped because of a technicality, the case against Urban Outfitters still stands, according to the New York Post.

Unfortunately, Pop's shoot makes Parry's editorial, which featured a fully clothed Clauson posing spread-eagle, riding a motorcycle and holding a case of beer, look positively wholesome. We wonder if there'll be another suit in the works...

We've reached out to Pop and stylist Max Pearmain, who posted the editorial on his blog, for comment and are waiting to hear back. Stay tuned.
