It's T minus 3 days until The Hunger Games opens! And yes, we already have tickets (and no, we will not be dressing up as our favorite characters, though we hope others at the theatre do). This movie has strong characters and a really unique plot, and one of the reasons we're excited to see it brought to life is because
Katniss Everdeen's Braid: Braids have been a fashion statement for many seasons now, and when we saw Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss braid, we sort of swooned. But lest you think it is supposed to be fashionable, it isn't.
According to Linda Flowers, the head hair designer for The Hunger Games, in an interview with

The other big Katniss wardrobe moment is her "Girl on Fire" suit, which was designed by the same people who did the bodysuits for the "X-Men" movies. It's made out of "novelty stretch fabric with embossed plastic." While Makovsky had to tone down the interview dress, she had to add a little something to the "Girl on Fire" outfit, which seemed "bland" to her in the book.
