Truth or Dare, Madonna’s new lifestyle brand for grown ups(as opposed to, you know, Material Girl at Macy’s) is starting to pick up speed.
On the heels of her first Truth or Dare fragrance campaign comes a preview of the music icon-turned-celebrity designer’s next product category: shoes! They’re being produced by Aldo, who had never done a footwear license agreement before. Thus, the collection is pretty affordable–and fairly massive. According to Footwear News, there will be over 60 styles including flats, heels and boots, which will range in price from $89 to $349.
Arianne Phillips, Madonna’s longtime stylist (and the costumer for her film W.E.) is the “creative consultant” for the line, which she says is inspired by Madonna’s past footwear choices. “The first thing I did was remind her of all the shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles that we can’t live without,” she told the paper.
You’ll be able to walk in Madge’s shoes this fall, when they’ll reportedly be available at Nordstrom, ASOS, Macy’s and Selfridge’s–who will stage a pop-up shop. Not a bad set of retailers for a brand new line. There will also be a new ad campaign, which we’re looking forward to, especially after seeing her fragrance ads in which she makes out with herself.
Expect even bigger–and sexier–things from Truth or Dare in the future. Intimates, for which we think ‘Truth or Dare’ is a perfect brand name, are set to launch later this year and legwear and more accessories are in the pipleline for 2013. Might a proper apparel line follow? Or maybe a line of sex toys? Neither would really surprise us.
