Kate Middleton-Beloved L.K. Bennett Opening First New York Store

Kate Middleton's obsession with those L.K. Bennett nude pumps (and, previously, black wedges) has transformed the brand from something few Americans even knew existed to a thriving business with plans to expand internationally. We recently reported that U.S. shoppers could now purchase those nude L.K. Bennett pumps at Nordstrom; but why settle for the next best thing when soon you'll be able to buy them in an actual L.K. Bennett store? The label is set to open their first New York outpost in Columbus Circle, Racked is reporting (via Shophound). This will be the brand's fourth U.S. store and probably not the last.

We recently reported that U.S. shoppers could now purchase those nude L.K. Bennett pumps at Nordstrom; but why settle for the next best thing when soon you'll be able to buy them in an actual L.K. This will be the brand's fourth U.S. store and probably not the last. There are currently locations in Atlanta, Chicago and Houston--all of which opened in the past year. According to a recent report in the Financial Times, the company reported a 17 per cent rise in gross profits thanks to increased sales of shoes and bags.

Robert Bensoussan, LK Bennett’s executive chairman, told the publication, “We think we could go to 20 stores in the US very quickly.” He also says that 45% of the company's annual sales revenue comes from shoes, another 45% from clothing and the rest from bags and accessories and that over time he wants that to become 30% clothing and 70% shoes and bags, which he says the future strength of the brand relies on. The company also reports that online sales are growing a whopping 100% per year.

As for the forthcoming New York store, there is already signage covering the shop's future home in the Time Warner Center, which says "Opening Soon." Hopefully, it's soon enough to snag a pair of those nude pumps in time for spring/summer. But if not, you can still get them from Nordstrom.
