Riccardo Tisci
Immediately after Galliano’s departure from Dior, the fashion industry started buzzing, or rather tweeting, that Ricardo Tisci was all but confirmed as in at Dior, and that Carine Roitfeld would come along for the ride, joining the brand as stylist. In turn, Haider Ackermann would replace Tisci at Givenchy. That was in March (lol). A few weeks later we reported that Dior wouldn’t be making a statement until Galliano’s contract had been legally dissolved and some of the gossip frenzy had died down. In other words: A while. All bets were that Dior would make an announcement in fall, after their Spring 2012 show. But we all know how that went. As other designers’ names started to surface as possible Galliano successors, the Tisci rumor lost steam, and a few months ago it was reported that he declined because he felt more “comfortable” at Givenchy.
