Bill Gaytten
Of course during all the rumor-mongering and tumult, Gaytten has remained at the helm of the house. And while fashion insiders seemed convinced he would only be a temporary replacement for Galliano, the commercial success of the brand under Gaytten’s direction (despite his first couture collection being panned by critics) has made us wonder if Dior would even bother replacing the designer. Indeed sources told WWD that Dior is “mulling continuing with a team approach, possibly adding some young, up-and-coming talents.” Then reports surfaced that Gaytten had already signed on to design three more collections for the brand, and just yesterday there were rumblings that he’d signed on for an additional three years.
