Titanic Red Carpet Premiere Style, Then (1997) and Now

A lot's changed since the 1997 premiere of Titanic: Kate Winslet won an Oscar (and went blonde), James Cameron made Avatar and Leonardo Dicaprio is no longer a baby-faced Jack Dawson (though he still has a thing for models). Last night, a good part of the Titanic crew showed up to fete the world premiere of the film's 3D release in London, and we couldn't help but reminisce about the film's first premiere and how much everyone had changed, especially Kate--something that Winslet herself agrees with. The actress told the Metro, "It is like being forced to go through a photo album of your former self for three and a half hours solidly." She added, "I haven't seen the whole film in a very long time but it's a whole different me and we look much younger and our acting was different, hopefully not as good as now." Ditto for her personal style! Click through to see side-by-side comparisons of Titanic's major players then, and now.

Last night, a good part of the Titanic crew showed up to fete the world premiere of the film's 3D release in London (it's in theaters on April 14, the day the Titanic sank), and we couldn't help but reminisce about the film's first premiere and how much everyone had changed, especially Kate--something that Winslet herself agrees with. Kate Winslet

Image Title2

Look how much she's grown up! But besides her sleek blonde hair, and svelte figure, it's good to know that something's never change: Winslet's still got a taste for dramatic gowns and cleave-baring necklines--In 1997, it was a Alexander McQueen for Givenchy gown, and in 2012 it was a pretty Jenny Packham number.

James Cameron

Cameron is a little grayer, and a little more dapper (no tie at the first premiere!), but he's still got a thing for hot blondes--in 1997 with Linda Hamilton and in 2012 with wife Suzy Amis.

Billy Zane

We have to say, Billy Zane hasn't aged a day in these past 15 years. And from the looks of it, neither have his model dates (Jessica Murphy in 1997, and Candice Neill in 2012)!

Bill Paxton

Image Title5

How cute are Paxton and wife of 25 years Louise Newbury? Fifteen years since the 1997 premiere (where Paxton looks ecstatic next to his pregnant wife) and the couple are still going strong. Aw.

Frances Fisher

From her short cropped 'do and body-baring dress in 1997 to her flowing tresses and covered up gown (which looks like it could have been lifted right off the set of the Titanic), it looks like the only that hasn't changed about Fisher is her signature red hair.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo Dio didn't attend the 3D premiere. But we figure you need to see him. So here he is at the 1997 premiere. Jack Dawson. So hot. Will you go see it in 3D on April 14?
