A little birdie told us there will be some girly outfit coordination going on at this year's Costume Institute Gala, which is less than two weeks away. The Vogue-hosted event will celebrate the opening of "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" at the Met and we hear the hostesses--namely, Vogue editors, will be paying a little tribute to one of the exhibition's subjects by following a strict dress code: they all have to wear pink.
We don't know whose idea it was, but we assume the inspiration behind said dress code was Elsa Sciaparelli's use of "shocking pink" -- a color she became famous for. We are pretty big fans of pink here at Fashionista. I'm currently wearing a hot pink Crewcuts cardigan and I mean just look at this website. So, we like this idea.
We just hope all the Voguettes are communicating throughout the outfit selection process--could you imagine if two of them showed up in the same dress? It would be a total Brenda/Kelly prom moment. Actually, we wouldn't be surprised if Anna had to have final approval. Anyway, for those of you who procrastinated on finding a dress, we scoured the spring and fall collections for some of our favorite pink pieces. Click through to see how our favorite Vogue editors might look in them.
