Erica Weiner Jewelry was founded in 2005. Thanks to some very supportive wholesale customers and an ever-growing and loyal fan base, we have grown exponentially over the last several years. In our studio on the Lower East Side, we design, promote, manufacture and assemble costume jewelry. We sell this always-changing line to 300+ stores around the world through our website, ericaweiner.com, our wholesale portal, ericaweiner.com/wholesale, and at our retail store in Nolita. At this shop, which we opened in November 2010, we also sell a selection of antique fine jewelry. Our wholesale line is still the heart of our brand, and it continues to evolve. We call upon our history-education backgrounds to design jewelry with a vintage, story-telling feel. We try to utilize reclaimed materials that were manufactured in the USA, and we produce everything in NYC with a core team of 5 women. Our mission is to make affordable, attractive, intelligently designed jewelry for like-minded women and boutiques. We’re looking for a part-time sales associate who’s excited to be the face of Erica Weiner Jewelry, and can articulately and intelligently sell our new and antique jewelry to an expanding customer base.
Sales Associate Responsibilities:
+ Work independently in our Nolita store 2 – 3 days a week.
+ Handle in-store sales of our regular and antique jewelry collection.
+ Respond to customer service inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
+ When necessary, communicate with store manager to handle custom requests, repairs, and other customer-service related inquiries.
+ Fulfilling web orders for collection and non-antique merchandise (processing payments, packing merchandise, and shipping via USPS).
+ Keep track of store inventory using Xero (maintaining accurate quantities and placing orders for new styles when needed).
+ Keeping track of store and shipping related-supplies, re-ordering when necessary.
+ Periodically re-merchandising the store and keeping displays attractive and orderly at all times. Light cleaning (dusting glass, sweeping).
+ Complete status daily status report to share with store manager.
The person we’re looking for:
+ Is friendly and open with customers; happy to field questions and be around people most of the day.
+ Can juggle and triage multiple customer service inquiries.
+ Can keep up and work quickly when the store gets really busy, and can pass down time in a productive way (research, production, light repairs).
+ Is knowledgeable about our merchandise, past and present, and about antique jewelry in general (or has a strong desire to learn more about these things).
+ Is a neat freak who loves merchandising, and will enjoy keeping the store looking beautiful and organized all the time.
+ Has strong, borderline obsessive attention to detail.
+ Is organized, punctual, thorough, and skilled at communication.
Availability and Compensation:
+ This is a paid position, located in NYC. Qualified candidates must be available to work 2 – 3 days a week in our Elizabeth Street store.
