Madewell Fall 2012: Wes Anderson + ‘Urban Woodland’ + English Professor = So Much Awesome

Want to know what you’ll be wearing this fall? You don’t need a crystal ball to figure it out–or at least we don’t after seeing Madewell‘s fall 2012 offerings.

From cool, patterned shirts, to cozy-yet-quirky knits and pretty floral skirts, the brand has a knack for creating clothes we actually want to wear…all the time: they’re staples but they also have that element of special-ness that separates them from your boring old t-shirts. Or, to put it in the words of the press release: “It’s one part Wes Anderson-style quirk, one part urban woodland, one part proper English professor.”

Some of our favorite items included a leopard pencil skirt, oversized sweater with a blanket-like stripe print, and a blouse with colorblock sleeves and collars. We’re not sure if Wes Anderson would ever wear any of those–or an English professor for that matter–but they’ll fit in just fine at the Fashionista offices.
