Yep, the first lady attended the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards Saturday night and she wore a super chic sparkly houndstooth jacket by one of our favorite up-and-coming designers Wes Gordon. She was there to present an award to Taylor Swift, who, we have to say, despite her slightly more formal ensemble, didn’t quite upstage the FLOTUS.

Obama paired the jacket with some sort of metallic painted-on high-waisted denim, which sounds like it shouldn’t work but somehow she pulled it off with a pair of sophisticated black pointy-toed pumps. We’re mostly excited about her decision to support another talented young designer who truly deserves it and whose past collections have been inspired by Kate Middleton and Rooney Mara–perhaps Mrs. O will be his next muse?.

Hopefully she didn’t get slimed (do they still do that?), although the first lady getting slimed would have been kind of amazing. Click through for another pic with Sasha and Malia because they looked cute, too.
