Roberto Cavalli Dares to Speak Out Against Anna Wintour...Again

Roberto Cavalli is the best kind of person to follow on Twitter because he does not give a fuck. Instead of letting a 23-year-old go-getter carefully monitor and run his Twitter account, he says exactly what he's thinking. "I canot use twitter ...just to wish GOOD MORNING or GOOD NIGHT To my friends," he wrote over the weekend. "I am not silly and banal !! I love to say my thoughts." And we're so glad he does. Because lately, when he's not asking if you prefer sex in the morning or at night, he's been on a filterless tear about the fashion industry. After telling D, the style magazine of Italian newspaper La Republicca, that he thought American fashion was "terrible," so terrible that you "almost can’t even look at it," and that it "has been driven by a great journalist, Anna Wintour, who wants all women to be like her and to dress the way she does," he's after Anna again on Twitter.

"I confide you a secret," he tweeted on Saturday, April 21st, "Anna Wintur das nt come to see my show in Milano ....... Why ?? becouse I dont do publicity in American Vogue ??" I think what Cavalli's saying here is that Wintour doesn't come to his shows because he doesn't buy advertising in her magazine, which, you know, he has a point. Editors often (usually?) attend shows out of obligation to advertisers--it's just that no one really talks about it.

Cavalli might be unfiltered but his rants aren't necessarily untrue. For example:

"Fashion...is a big machine of money !! no creativity anymore ! In 50 years the books of fashion ... THEY DONT HAVE NATHING TO SAY ABOUT US"

and

where is the franch fashion ? No one disigner is franch.......in the franch brands, English...American..... italian ....

Both true statements. Oh and despite generally hating American fashion he acknowledges one American talent:

THE ONLY AMERICAN DESIGNER THAT I LIKE IS MARC JACOBS...! but ...just in the Marc Jacobs show !!! Louis Vuitton show is for old ladys

Roberto Cavalli, crazy or crazy like a fox? Fashin thinks it's time for Cavalli to stop posting. I say keep it coming.
