The hail wasn’t enough to rid the Egyptians of their precious crops entirely, so God sent a zillion locusts to darken the skies and devour whatever food was left. The Egyptians got so tired of dealing with all these devastating plagues that many gave up and laid down in their barren fields, waiting for the end to come. See above photo.
