While MAC has a healthy-sized permanent makeup collection whose products inspire a lot of loyalty, we love the brand because of its frequent, creative collaborative and themed collections. The problem with these, though, is that if you fall in love with a piece, it’s usually impossible to find again after a few weeks. This is really an issue with the nail lacquers–MAC currently only has about eight colors in its permanent collection; the rest rotate in and out. But as of this summer that’s changing.
It’s no secret that nail polish causes a feeding frenzy, and people are often fiercely loyal to fave colors (see: Essie Ballet Slippers). To tap into this, MAC is launching a permanent collection of 30 colors–some are old favorites, some new, and some re-releases (like the popular “Spirit of Truth,” a perfect blue from the Wonder Woman collection.) The polishes come in three finishes–pearl, frost, and cream. Some of our faves? “Girl Trouble” (a pink metallic), Morange (a Tangerine Tango-y orange), and “Anti-Fashion” (a dark and broody brownish purple). But don’t worry–new colors will still constantly be introduced via the limited edition collections.
The nail lacquer collection will launch at Nordstrom and MAC stores on July 5, then hit more globally and online on August 2, for $16 each. Hoping to see an old fave there? Here are all the polishes that will be available:
