Carine Roitfeld, who is quickly becoming the female Karl Lagerfeld with her numerous and varied projects (MAC makeup line, documentary, new magazine, styling gigs, etc), has a new project. She is organizing the first-ever fashion show at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cannes next week on May 24. With a red carpet to rival that of the Met Gala, it makes sense that fashion will be in the spotlight at the event.

Roitfeld “curated” the runway show around her idea of the “perfect black wardrobe,” according to WWD. Many A-list fashion labels contributed looks to the show including Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Christian Dior, Christopher Kane, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton and Versace. And if you’re a sample size, need a whole bunch of black clothes, and have a lot of money, the whole thing is going to be auctioned off as one single lot after the show.

We can’t wait to see what will no doubt be an exciting fashion show, both on and off the runway.
